Cade definitely should not be ROTY over Scottie but I'm actually surprised they didn't give him this month

Kuminga didn't really get solid minutes till Feb. If ROY only took half a year into consideration - I'm sure many more rookies would be included in the conversation!

he didn't get gifted minutes early because his team has lots of depth... don't think that should be held against him. his play was consistent.

If that consistent play yielded some higher stat totals, ya he'd be in the conversation. Most promising part is his efficiency
FG% 51.3% (League Avg 47.3%) 3PT% : 33.6% (League Avg 32.6%).
If he played on a bad team and was allowed to make unlimited mistakes - he'd be in the top 5 ROY prospects.

Poor troll attempt. Kuminga played half as many minutes as the top 3 ROY candidates. He didn't do much of anything aside from score at a pretty high rate and rebound decently as he had more TOV than AST while averaging less than 0.5 STL and 0.5 BLK. Not to mention his impact was pretty poor in a bench role (-1.9 EPM, -3.5 RAPTOR, -0.5 WAR, -1.5 BPM).

What a find Herb Jones has been. He's an elite defender as a rookie, a strong finisher at the rim already (68%), just under 34% from 3 and 84% from the FT line means he probably stabilizes as a really + shooter, and he can already handle and pass the ball.

He's a super role player already, even if he never improves a single iota. I thought he was a blown pick and really wanted Jared Butler. On a team that already has multiple ball handlers and lead scorers, he honestly can be inserted anywhere in the lineup and he thrives.

If Kuminga could of held up his shooting percentages on a higher volume and was given steady minutes of 30+ from the start then i'd agree he should be also be a candidate for ROTY.

He's got All Star in his future no doubt.

Cade not winning Rookie of the Month for March is a crime. I'd be fine with him not winning ROY (even tho he should) but not winning March? What the ****, it makes no sense.

It is March and April combined.

He missed games and was inefficient in the games he played....shooting 34%, 10% from 3.

Few will remember who won ROY in a few years. Lots of teams got great players in last years draft. Nice influx of skill for sure. They will be contending for ASG's soon.

Absolute rubbish. This shouldn't be a detriment to Cade at all. IMO his only slight is Mobley/Barnes have been great the whole year as opposed to only the second half of the season and efficiency. But you can legit make an argument that Cade has been the best rookie in March and one who has a highest ceiling as a shot creator over anyone in the class other than Green.

Umm, he was also ROTM for January. This narrative that he only played 20 games well is just bull. He's been playing well for most of the year, after coming back from injury and having a slow start. You know, like Barnes had a stretch of bad games and how Mobley has been out for a stretch. Yet somehow, this only counts against Cade.

Well yeah it does. Because he was awful. If you didn't totally gloss over his efficiency/TO's and advanced stats it would paint a clear picture as to why Mobley and Barnes are the favorites. I think Cade has been great of late, but too little too late.

Scottie Barnes is the rightful rookie of the year but Cade got snubbed for rookie of the month. He had the best month by any rookie this season. Not that it matters all that much.

Honestly I don't think any of this hoopla means anything in the grand scheme. If anything people on this board are too invested in ROY and month for that matter. Who knows how things will look in several years, and I know every team is happy with their selection.

Well it's a fact that the NBA always props up franchises in Cleveland and Toronto over places like Detroit. We see this time after time.
