Nets fans keep saying this, why?

Cause Dwight's a baby?
Cause he didn't go to the Nets?

He's either getting moved to a different team, being held on to until deadline, or walking. Most of us don't even care anymore since he's been doing it so long.

Simply put the longer they hold on to a disgruntled star whose contract is running out, the more teams will try to lowball them into worser offers than what we offered. Before you say they'll risk losing him for nothing, when has a GM actually done that?

isn't that good for your nets?

The Knicks are better than the Nets because they're better defensively.

How is this a fact if the Nets haven't played one game yet with their new roster? Unless you're a psychic?

My apologies.

How is everyone magically making the Knicks a top 4 seed when they have never been better than 6 and have not made any major improvements?

Read my post, its not that the Knicks made major improvements, it's that the teams ahead of them have lost major players that have led them to winning in the first place.

They weren't getting a good offer from the Nets. They have no obligation to take it. They don't want to be stupid and pay Brook f*cking Lopez 15 million a year to get crappy draft picks. That's negative value to them. Houston and LA's offers are much better.

Not just for us, but for every other team with assets. Especially a team with capspace for the summer to sign him outright. Of course we're in a good position since he asked to be traded to us, but the longer this goes the worse it'll turn out for Orlando

Netsultimatefan63 wrote:lol it's amazing how insecure Knicks fans are in this thread. Especially the ones saying the Nets "failed". In fact, the Nets completely revamped their roster which convinced their top 3 point guard to re-sign. The Nets succeeded this off-season. Dwight would have just been the cherry on the cake at this point. Everyone thought that Dwight had to be a Net for Deron to stay but look what happened? Nets have nothing to be upset about. The Magic are the ones who are in trouble. It's embarrassing for their franchise how they are handling this fiasco.

And it's amazing how Knicks fans forget about their "contending" roster that lead them to 78-70 record these past two seasons (a 6 seed followed by a 7 seed) including 1-8 in the post season. They're no where close to contending for anything.

signing JJ does not equal revamping your roster

The Knicks were 28-15 after Linsanity took off. They're better than last year with Kidd and Camby off the bench.

18-6 under Woodson is all that matters. Pringles sabotaged the season.

So wait - you want us just to take that offer, because?

We haven't stopped talks with other teams, it's false. We can still flip him to the Rockets, Lakers, or "other teams" that have been in contact, you don't know the offers.

We can also keep him the whole season and gain capspace and let him walk.

We can play him, and if he shows no ill effects - we can get better offers.

We can see if he wants to sign (I doubt it) - and also, we can get him to expand the team list where he wants to go. He can't force a trade to Brooklyn, nor sign there. He has no leverage.

Nets did it to themselves. They traded their draft pick for Gerald Wallace and got rid of all the expirings while clearly the Magic didn't value Lopez/Brooks/Humphries. It's like they just assumed Dwight would be handed to them or they never really wanted him.
