As a Raptors fan, this bodes well for our future. Unlike other storied franchises in league history, we are a devoted yet rarely rewarded group of individuals. While the rest of the league tanks, we can use this opportunity to quietly climb the ranks of the weak Eastern Conference and become a team that can consistently make the playoffs, yet goes nowhere. This is clearly the next step of our evolution.

The Rockets in the Western Conference, however, may take this disparity in overall league wide star power, to place themselves in a very good position come next June, to draft a solid, young power forward candidate.

For all the people saying NJs deal was worse, understand that Afflalo and Harrington will make more over the next three years than Lopez.

I am in complete denial. I just can't see Orl choosing THIS deal out of all the offers they had gotten.

I know it is the popular thing to trash the magic right now, but it is not worse then the Nets deal.

Lopez had 2 surgeries in the last year, the Magic were talking to them until they reportedly checked his medical records. Even still if fully healthy I would much rather get 3 1st round picks, a 2nd round pick or 2, 3 young prospects, a good starting sg, and cap relief over an overpaid center, 4 1st round picks, an overpaid pf, a young prospect sg, and cap relief.
