more time spent in the paint = higher probability of injury

they are trying to minimize risk of injury

his entire career/value boils down to when/how bad he gets injured

obviously he's guaranteed the supermax/etc (as long as he doesn't get injured). he's not really competing against anyone or anything except his own extremely high injury probability

no one is thinking "Is his rival [... that doesn't exist] going to play better than him?" no it's just "how long until he snaps in half?"

he looks so skinny like he's about to get fatally injured any second

so yeah all that matters is lowering his injury risk

thus boring 3's

His core strength will likely improve in the future, which will make him even more insane.

His 3PAr is coming down the last few games and I think that's probably for the best long term.

42 6 and 5 against a quality opponent in Capela and the Hawks.

Bloody hell. He may only be one season away from being a legit MVP contender (most likely 2 realistically)

At least I can sleep easy he is not in the Easten Conference.

Generational Talent indeed..

He's pretty close to MVP level now. The league is just really stacked with talent.

Wemby is too good too quickly. The Spurs probably would have been better tanking for one more year. Imagine this team with Dylan Harper on it.

Once they get to that 50 win per year mark, which might happen as soon as next year, he'll be a perennial MVP candidate.

And this thread will be on the front page for the next decade.

The Spurs will find a way to get good vets around him though, that might offset the lack of lottery talent that may or may not pan out.

If you keep tanking it eventually turns into permanent losing culture.

Better that Wemby makes you too good for the lottery than him not being good enough to keep you out of the lottery.

I know, you never want to lose. Wemby just accelerated the timeline.

Wemby is a mixture of an Embiid and Durant-lite skill-wise, and is Giannis physically.

In his last 12 games, bro is averaging

28/11/1/3 on 50/39/87 shooting splits

Absurd.

He legitimately has the potential to make the LeBron/MJ debate irrelevant.

I hope he becomes the undisputed GOAT so we don't have to hear about LBJ vs MJ ever again

What impressed me more than the 42 points is that he had a moment where he said f— this s— and took over. Very much in line with the Olympics, and had his best game in the gold medal game. He has what it takes mentally.

And he had Trae Young so terrified of getting blocked he shot a floater all the way over the backboard.

Most didn't enter the league at 19. But Victor might get there by year 3 nonetheless.

The title gets more and more accurate with each passing week. It really is concerning (for the other 29 teams).
