They want brooks to be able to blatantly push a shooter with impunity

In no world was that a push. No overt action whatsoever, his elbow didn’t extend. He put his hand on him. There was more contact on that Sengun 2.

Some idiots are not worth arguing with

Agree with this. The front rows look like they’re watching a wine tasting, not Steph Curry. They got lost on their way to a charity gala and ended up at a playoff game.

It's been pearls before swine in the SF arena era but money talks so there you go.

I really should pay up to go to a game this playoffs but it just seems like a waste of money.

Lol, you really think the Warriors have one of the worst HC advantages?

I've been going to games since the 80's and while it has become more corporate it still has hardcore fans throughout the arena.

You can't touch the shooter. Plain and simple.

FYI you can graze the hand (not the wrist) after the shot but there cannot be contact anywhere else.

Yes, crowds are supposed to do that (although the GS crowd these days is not nearly as energetic or loud as it used to be, eg Roaracle). Its not the cheering that people have a problem with, its that the GS home crowd are mostly obnoxious jackasses these days. Its why youll see a lot of hate about GS home crowds from GS fans.

As soon as GS started winning, they priced out all of the real fans that had been with the team for decades and now the stands are packed with rich SV types that will be gone just as fast as soon as this era of GS ends. The type that go to games to be seen, or go because going to games is the cool, trendy thing to do and they can tell their friends about it and post about it on IG. Its become a prestige/status thing for a certain crowd to have tickets and go to games.

I worked in SV for most of my adult life and personally know a lot of "tech bros" that couldnt have cared less about basketball but would brag about getting tickets or how theyre going to the game, and they need to make sure everyone knows about it.

Same thing happened with the Sharks to a lesser extent. And it ruined the experience of going to games, at least for me.

Well said, and this falls on the greedy Dubs owners somewhat too.. Pricing out the working class/grassroots Dubs fans and replace them for snobby rich elitist types who probably never watched a game of basketball in their lives but don't want to miss out being seen at the game with their other snot nosed wealthy/elite friends and business associates

I enjoyed the Warriors Crowds at their old Stadium in Oakland especially during your memorable Run TMC era. Those were great times.

Sadly this is the world we live in. Ask Man City fans and their empty stadium even when they are winning the treble. This is inevitable when money starts to flow into... everywhere in our lives.

Working class fans will have to find a new way to entertain themselves. At the end of the day sports are just entertainment. The ratio of super emotionally attached fans in those business associates compared to the working class, which one is higher? You have the answer.

NBA just can't be real.

THJ has Hart run through half of his airspace = sleep
Jimmy Butler gets a tickle on his tummy = real sh#%

The NBA has a consistency issue and this is a big f#$king deal when you are in bed with the sports books.

Both were clear fouls, not sure why you're pretending Jimmy's shot wasn't clearly a foul. Pushing directly into the midsection during a jumper should always be a foul.

Rockets got a bunch of gifted FTs anyway, so hard to really complain overall. Like that delay of game, the Rockets have been hitting the ball after scoring all series and it's never called (including tonight), but they call that on the Warriors.

At the end of the day, you can be smarter; you can challenge yeah, but touching the offensive player, you are giving a reason for the refs to make a call.

Also, that was Jimmy Butler, who was playing injured and perhaps not much lift; you put your hands up and hope and trust the percentages (32.8% for his career, so yeah i’d take those odds rather than risk a call from the refs)

If that's the case, then your boy Jalen Flopson should have been ejected in a few games this postseason already for the 10/10 flopping, took that stuff to a new level.

Yeah, but that is after the shot as you said. Touching the shooter while in motion, and before the ball is released is always a foul as it should.
That is why that THJ non-call is so outrageous and not comparable with all the other missed calls.

If you can push, even a little, bump, or worse touch the elbow before the release, then the jumpshot % will go down to insane numbers, probably single digits with a contact like in the Detroit game, and then there is no point in playing basketball anymore.

My apologies, I read the post I quoted as 'he grazed his hand' not 'he grazed him with his hand'. Touching the shooter as optms says is a no go.

The same thing happens everywhere, I am not sure why people are picking on Warriors.
Do you think tickets are cheap in MSG?

It's entertainment at the end of the day and a business.
I thought the crowd was loud tonight so I don't see any issues there. Some people might be going there only to be seen, but I don't think it's the majority.

Still feel like the league wanted Butler in golden state.

Now we get to watch another year of yet another contrived golden state team make it far in the playoffs

Most manufactured franchise in professional sports post 2010.

Yeah crazy that you can’t push a player in the air whilst they are shooting!

Or brooks could have just put his hands up

He likes to push guys in the air. Ask GP2.

The risk of injury is not trivial either, ask Andrew Bogut or Patrick McCaw, or GPII for that matter who sustained an elbow fracture when pushed by the same player/Brooks playing against the Grizzlies in the first round of the play-offs in 2022.

It's a coping mechanism. Those people wanted the Rockets to win (or the Warriors to lose), that didn't happen and thus someone ought to be blamed whatever the cost, in this case the referees. The only person in that whole segment that deserves blame is Brooks. Don't put your hand on a shooter, easy, light work.

Might I add a shooter that's just heaving it up out of desperation because the shot clock is about to expire. To make it even more stupid, this is a career 33% 3P shooter, with a hurt back. Not only is putting your hands on a shooter in motion dumb, you are touching the guy you would beg to take that shot.

Udoka just doesn't know how to coach offense yet. He should have already won a title against the warriors but he just couldn't adapt after kerr made some adjustments after the first two games. He is good at getting his team to play serious and tough basketball but he is limited on the offensive side of the game for now.
