“I’m gonna take my own advice and not complain about the refs” and then proceeds to just do exactly that. This guy

Annnnnd here comes a fine.
It's Embiid, they won't fine him. Instead he'll get 20 ft on Monday.

Ernie Johnson on TNT halftime show for the Mavs-Jazz game said his comments ring hollow. Even Ernie couldn't stomach this giant flopping baby who gets so many calls complaining. I don't know how any non Philly fans can root for this guy or his teammate Harden.

The thing is they were protecting him all game. When Thad dropped him with a move, he immediately went and gave Young a cheap shot. It was in full view. They let it slide. Just because you fall on the floor a lot doesn't mean you're getting fouled. I can understand his frustration because he's used to getting a generous whistle. He's a human being and he's been spoiled by the league. I'm with Pascal, just play basketball. Embiid's too good to let run around taking cheap shots. You can maybe forgive one as frustration, but he kept going.

It'll be interesting how the league responds. I really can't get a good gauge for what is a fine anymore.

Yeah I saw that. Certainly they're a pair that garner more attention and have a style of play that takes advantage of defenses and I believe average more FTs than other pairings. But it's all gamesmanship. He was hampered by his hand from what I saw in the first half, taking more outside shots. Sometimes he later got good position deep in the post and that was effective but likely more painful, too. Now it's his turn to work the refs off the court.
Bottom line is Shaq was right - 76ers didn't bring the requisite finish the series fire. I thought it was just my fatigue that made the 76ers look sluggish before I went down for a nap but I guess not.

Philly **** the bed and let the Raptors hang around. Still think they close it out in Philly, but the series did get slightly more interesting. If people think that the refs were good today you were not watching the game objectively. The number of times Philly players got absolutely murdered really made it look like the game was rigged.
Here are Embiid's comments that he made after the game lol.
Here is Scott Foster's record when James Harden and Chris Paul in a playoff game
Like I'm not into conspiracy theories, but this is insane. The NBA needs to investigate this dude, because regardless of personal bias, that is an appalling record for two players who have consistently won at a high percentage in their careers.
The numbers speak for themselves.

To make up for the 15 he should have gotten today. Do you think the refs swallowed their whistles a lot?

thats what happens when refs are allowed to do what they do, the first 2 games we an atrocity of reffing it was only going to come back around.

The thing is if Joel believes in a ref conspiracy than that invalidates his entire game, because he's heavily reliant on officiating giving him the benefit of the doubt on both ends. I'm sure he's just heated and not thinking straight.

That abomination is not what the refs were supposed to do lol. And if you saw that record than Scott Foster, what does that tell you. As much as Harden and CP3 flop, they definitely earn a lot of calls. What is your explanation for CP3 and Harden, two players who are some of the greatest of this generation going 1-27 against Foster. That is clear as day.

Grifting is bad, but there were a number of times this game that he was murdered and nothing was called. Look at the FT disparity. Philly earns more FT than any any team in the league I believe, and look how many more the Raptors got.
Did the Raptors suddenly just get amazingly good at drawing contact?

but the abomination is what the refs do, its part of the game. They prop up players (like embiid) by giving them leeway and gimmies. they also will try to bring games closer, say a team is up 20, the team down will get favorable calls. Or if a series is 3-0... i think you understand.
what i dont understand is why your up in arms considering the all the flops and touch fouls the sixers got the first 2 games along with how the refs treat embiid probably better than any other superstar in the league. its laughable how emotional you seem at this moment

looks good to me, nicely sold with his acting, but still a offensive foul.

It was really just Siakam who got to the line a lot in this one, and he had "0" FTAs in game 3 when even 2 could have made the difference in a win-loss. So he overperformed his normal amount, whereas Embiid still had 9 FTAs and Harden had 11. They pretty much got theirs.
If we consider the entire series, Philly is averaging 27.3 FTA. Toronto 22. So Toronto is just .7 above their season average and Philadelphia is 2.7. To me that reads like both teams are where they're supposed to be. Philadelphia was overperforming earlier and they underperformed now. It sounds to me like he expects every call and acted really irresponsibly by physically lashing out on the Raptors. They could have really picked on him if they wanted to.

As y'all say games should be called consistently. Refs should never be the deciding factor in the playoffs.tdotrep2 wrote:eyeatoma wrote:tdotrep2 wrote:thats what happens when refs are allowed to do what they do, the first 2 games we an atrocity of reffing it was only going to come back around.
