He's already a ~top5 player in this regular season.

25-11-4-4 on 60TS%
6th in BPM
6th in EPM
+13.1 on/off
Main DPOTY candidate

If you exclude nostalgia, there are MAYBE 5-6 better players than him in terms of regular season impact.

He's basically one offensive step away from being a true MVP candidate.

Yeah people are running out of things to be concerned about haha. If he gets a little stronger and his teammates can get him a few more easy dumpoffs/lobs he'll take that offensive step, because he's the best I've seen come into the league as a finisher in those setups. He's playing on a nerf hoop. Not to mention he'll continue to refine his face up and drive/spin game. He'll be averaging 30ppg as the DPOY, looks like by year 3. People will still question his 3pr or LEBRON rating or something though.

When they decide to bring in another good player (go for Trae Young!) He's immediately going to be in the MVP discussion, and like you say, he's already a top 10 player comfortably. The rest of the starting 5 is 39 year old cp3,vassell,Barnes, and Sochan. Their bench isn't great, and they're already winning more (without vassell for a good chunk).

After a slow start he is starting to really improve.

7-15 from three last night. I guess if you're going to shoot "too many threes" its nice to make 47% of them

Bloody hell. He may only be one season away from being a legit MVP contender (most likely 2 realistically)

At least I can sleep easy he is not in the Easten Conference.

Generational Talent indeed..

Most generational / elite bigs reach MVP ish level by year 3.

Most didn't enter the league at 19. But Victor might get there by year 3 nonetheless.

Guys with Euro style training and elite skillsets are pros early. Like Luka.
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

Still lack the physical maturity that comes with age in comparison.

Yeah but LeBron was in his 3rd year when he was the same age that Wemby is now in his 2nd year. LeBron was 2nd in MVP when he was Wemby's age. LeBron started a year younger because he went straight from high school.

Wemby's great he's like top 15 in a number of basic advanced stuff. Luka/Bron are different their 2nd years were flat out amazing.

I like comparing Wemby more to AD's second year imo you know actual bigs.

Would prefer a nice 6-7 average for the ft line but other than that he's tracking superbly.

Elite bigs have elite physical tools. If Shaq went to the league at 19 he’d have still been a freak, same for Wilt, Kareem. Moses went pro out of hs.

AD, Walton, Sabonis, Bill, Mikan, Oden (Can't do much with what happened), Embiid

I say All Time talent can play alot earlier in the pros than people would expect. It's all because of the rules which is the dumbest thing ever

Zion was a top 50 NBA player in high school lol

Other sports do not hard stop world class talent. don't matter if your not 18 or 18 or any age if your'e that good you play where your'e supposed to be

Got a lot of hate saying he was right there with Tatum heading into this season, on the cusp of being a top 5 player. People bumping threads and ****, but he’s going to win DPOY at 20. Don’t underestimate the month to month progress of a transcendent generational prospect. Let’s see where he’s at by the end of the year. Just make sure you haters keep that same energy all year.

He's ridiculous. The surest sure thing since Lebron and if his body holds up he's a better prospect than Lebron. You can't teach that height and length, he's got it all.

That's a reach, Lebron's goat level feel for the game was evident from the start. I doubt Wemby ever gets to that level at all.

Yeah, wasn't expecting 87% in year two, that's for sure.

He's been extremely good.

Fair points zimpy, I really love what wemby offers defensively even though lebron averaging 31 ppg back then is insane. I’m not entirely sure that version of LeBron makes the spurs a better team than wemby right now but I’m not going to argue that too much because second in MVP is damn impressive for that age, good call

Wemby has been great but he needs to show that he can do this against elite teams

It's an interesting one. Lebron was a much higher-impact offensive player and much more of a rugged, powerful force on O, right? Dude was smashing his way to the rim without much of a jumper as a younger dude. So fast, so strong, so large, etc. The flip side of that is that even at his best, he wasn't like Wemby on D. He was very good, even a DPOY candidate in Miami for a short spell, but never the same sort of "oh crap, I'd better get this 3 off fast or I'm in deep crap because he's standing.... inside the top of the key" type of fear, right?

So it's a difference of spheres of impact, too.
