Re: Official RGM GOAT Debate Thread
Once again happy holidays, here Is a list of goats from the poll and a few others I left off the poll OR couldn't fit In hmm..
And In the words of Bron, "This Is a team sport" so listing all the goats on the poll (Minus Jokic and others), listing best team win/loss records. <> have a hard time placing guys who're still playing In their primes like Giannis/Jokic etc, so don't place them top 15 just yet, but who knows when their time comes to the end.
I'm drinking It's holiday season might be off on years/win/loss take It as you will.
W = win, L = Loss, the championship that year
This Is my top 15 players list In order, feel free to agree to disagree hahaha, my top 5 will never change, Kobe my Idol, I'm a Bron hater, haters going to hate, get over It.
Bird I started watching NBA late 80's early 90's being a white guy myself love Birds game/style etc. so naturally put him In top 10.
Again feel free to agree to disagree.
Jordan Goat: 72 - 10 ... W ... Year 1995 ... 6 chips
Russell: 62 - 18 ... W ... Year 1965 ... 11 chips
Bird: 67 - 15 ... W ... Year 1986 ... 3 chips <> Biased love Bird.
Duncan: 67 - 15 ... L ... Year 2016 ... 5 chips
Magic: 65 - 27 ... W ... Year 1987 ... 5 chips
Kobe IDOL: 67- 15 ... W ... Year 2000 ... 65 - 17 ... W Year 2009 deserves 2 years, 1 with Shaq, 1 with out Shaq ... 5 chips
Shaq: 67 - 15 ... W ... Year 2000 ... 4 chips best year with Kobe
Kareem: 66 - 16 ... L ... Year 1970 ... 6 chips
Curry: 73 - 9 ... W ... Year 2015 ... 4 chips
Bron: 66 - 16 ... L ... Year 2008 ... 4 chips <> Bron hater, haters gonna hate.
Wilt: 69 - 13 ... W ... Year 1972 ... 2 chips
Hakeem: 55- 27 ... L ... Year 1993 ... 2 chips
Admiral: 62 - 20 ... L ... Year 1995 2 chips
Durant: 60 - 21 ... L ... Year 2012 ... 2 chips
Oscar: 66 - 16 ... L year 1970... 1 chip
top 15 Is a tough list for anyone to grasp, the following players Is even harder ... West, Malones, Stocktons, Garnetts, Dirks, Nash, many, many more follow.
If you see the trend I'm going by then respect, but I'll give you a hint, It's chips and of course favourtism haha. Also I know some players might not carry their teams to their chips, but that's hogwash, because again In the words of Bron It's a "team sport" soooooooo!
Peace out, happy holidays and new year.

Nothing surprising here for those of us who pay attention when we watch the games and are old enough to remember MJ, but video evidence and play by play observations are never out of place in this conversation:

All human life on the earth is like grass, and all human glory is like a flower in a field. The grass dries up and its flower falls off, but the Lord’s word endures forever.

My IQ dropped just from reading the comments section. Just look at the videos titles of that channel, lmao. "LeBrick James GETS EXPOSED AGAIN", "LeQuit James IS GOING OUT SAD", "LeBlame James IS A COMPLETE JOKE". That Channel is the embodiment of LeBron Derangement Syndrome. It's purely dedicated to hating on LeBron. Imagine being a grown man and unironically watching videos from a channel like this. It is tailored to low IQ basketball fans that enjoy Skip Bayless.
Couldn't be me.

That channel often has clickbait titles but the content is solid. Feel free to debunk the video.

I wasn't asking you to read the comment section or the video titles. In fact, if you had asked, I would've told you both would be the greatest possible waste of time you could possibly imagine and would do nothing but reinforce all of your preconceived ideas about people who think Jordan is the best player ever; but you didn't ask, and you did read them (I didn't), and what I would've told you would happen did happen. I was asking you to watch the video. I guess I'll ask again now, since nothing in your paragraph indicates that you did.

Dang, wish I would've seen your far classier response before I laid down the snark. Could've saved five minutes of my life.

Jordan wins that poll by a landslide. I'm a bit disappointed my man Nicola Jokic hasnt surpassed LBJ yet. Probably will take one more MVP and one more ring for people to see true greatness in front of their eyes

Its this users' trademark to just pour out ad hominem attacks when he cant attack the actual point made, like "imagine thinking..." or " who would take you seriously". At this point i'm wondering wether we are exposed to a viral marketing campaign or actually arguing with real people. The willingness to admit a single failure or weakness in LBJ's career is zero with a handful of guys in here (or maybe its just one guy).
At the same time, people from both camps tend to be rude and insulting in this never ending debate. I wonder why we cant just exchange the same statistics for the 1000th time in peace.

Re: Official RGM GOAT Debate Thread
Only 4 times has a player won regular season MVP, Finals MVP, the scoring title, and was 1st team defense.
Jordan
Jordan
Jordan
Jordan.
Jordan has 2 o the 3 100 block, 200 steal, 300 assist, 300 rebound seasons in history.
He also led the league in scoring both times.
In 6 championship seasons, he only missed a total of 6 games. He also played all 82 games 9 times in his career.
During those 6 championship seasons, he never lost 3 games in a row. Never. The Bulls were the juggernaut. Golden State with Steph has 4, Bulls had a dominant 6 championships.
In 87-88, Jordan was Defensive Player of the Year, while averaging 35 points per game, 6 assists and 6 rebounds. This is an entire 8 points more than the next leading scorer to win DPOY.
in 1988-89 MJ was asked to play PG in a short period of time and recorded 10 triple double in 11 games.. averaging 33.6 PPG, 11.4 Rebounds, 10.8 Assists and 3 Steals.
in the 1991 finals against Magic, Jordan had 32, 11.4, the 3rd most assists in finals history.
In 1993, 41 ppg, the most points per game in finals history.
MJ is the only player to drop 50+ pts in 3 decades, the closest person hasn't even done 40+ in 3 decades
Jordan won 5 MVP's in 13 seasons, only tied by Russell and surpassed by Kareem's 6... and we know that
more should have been won if not for voter's fatigue.
6 championships and finals MVPs, 10 scoring titles, 9x 1st team defense, DPOY.

LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad

Thats funny. There are several great summaries about how the league bends the box scoring rules to favor and inflate LeBron's numbers, i'm sure you will cite them too now, right?
Basically you can cut his all time assist numbers in half when comparing him to MJ. He looks very human suddenly, doesnt he?

I didn't write that researched article, your beef is with that author not me. Ask him to cite James' numbers.
