theres no reason to rush the process when the cavs will rule the east for at least the next 3 years
edit: look how bad the pelicans **** up their team around AD
the sixers have the lakers pick and the kings swap but im still kinda mad we're winning too many games
Dont you guys own the lakers pick? just outsource the tank and bring some playoff experience into the process
I think we'd make a trade for a true young #3 guy once we've gotten a chance to see Simmons and Embiid on the court together.
Of course, the underlying concern for now is that when we ramp up things with Embiid (probably next year) is that he gets another stress fracture somewhere which puts a limit on how much we can play him forever.
So for now most of us are still fine to be in young player mode rather than trade a bunch of future assets for a complementary piece who may not be enough if Embiid gets hurt again. It's a form of hedging our bets on how we build the team.
It's really a shame we lost Embiid's second year in the league. If he had just waited until we drafted him Hinkie would have helped him choose the right surgery off the bat and then we'd be much further along. Of course, we probably don't get Simmons under this scenario but we also probably get to keep Sam Hinkie which is an even trade to me.
