Lamelo's end of season run was straight up. Image
If he still wins ROY after that we'll know it's rigged.

Last 10 for Ant - 24.4 ppg / 7.2rpg / 4.1 apg / .9 blocks / 1.2 stl / 3.0 TO on 50%FG | 36% 3PT | 67% FT

His numbers after the all-star break have been pretty ridiculous as well

I disagree. ANT 100% deserves ROY. Those that don't watch this kid play don't understand how good he really is and he still has so much potential. First half of the year he had no teammates due to injury and a high school head coach (at best!). ANT is the real deal people.

I've seen every Wolves game this year, you're preaching to the choir.

I'm just saying that's how the media will work if Lamelo can kill it in these last games + the play-in.

****, Lamelo went back up to #1 on the Rookie rankings in the same week Edwards had the best game of his pro career that week.

awards are for the Regular season right? Is the play-in part of it?

Not sure, I just know how the media is going to play this is Lamelo has a decent game and gets the Hornets to the playoffs.

Ant deserves ROY

Okongwu looked great in his start tonight with 21/14 and 2 Blocks in almost 33 minutes. He was 10 of 13 from the field.

It set him back but he was never getting more than 15 minutes a game on a regular basis. Despite all the Hawks injuries, Capela and Collins had relatively healthy seasons.

I hope he gets a bump to 20 minutes next season; and Capela gets cut down to about 25 to lower the impact on his body.

The ROY goes to Charlotte for sure, it's not about the quality of the player or his performance. It's amazing how quite have been lately Ball fans.

LaMelo ran the 1st half of the season, Edwards the 2nd half for rookies. But I don't think recency bias plays too much a factor in the ROTY voting and Ball wins it. Regardless, two sure-fire future stars (not to mention others) from this supposed weak draft class is great for all fans.

I'm a fan of the Wolves and could care less about the ROTY award.

Same.

Could make an argument that Wolves fans hope he DOESN’T win the award.

Okongwu is showing why he was the best big man prospect in this draft.

One important area where LaMelo had a huge edge over Ant earlier in the season was efficiency...there was a point of time in the season where Ant's EFG% was 43% and LaMelo's was 53%....now by end of season, whatever edge Ball had in efficiency has narrowed down significantly...Ant has ended season with EFG% of 49.5% whereas Ball is at 50.5%. Ant's EFG% post-ASB has been 53.5%.

Last couple of weeks Maxey has finally gotten some regular playing time and is making the most of it. Most obvious is the 3 ball going in right regular, and the drives to the rim, drawing fouls. But his improvement on D and confidence in the halfcourt offense shows an awful lot of development was going on those months he was glued to the bench. A rookie season mostly under the radar, but real glad we held onto him after all the trade talk. I expect he’ll be turning a lot of heads real soon.

Was listening to Game Theory podcast today with Sam Vecenie and Danny Leroux.
one of them can't really decide whether Edwards or Melo is ROY, the other doesn't even have Ant in his all rookie 1st team (Melo, Quickly, Hali, Bey, Stewart). Just WTF.

He's got some of the worst tunnel vision I've ever seen, but when you watch Nwora you can easily see the scoring talent. Bucks might have their version Lou Will next season.

LOL, slow down there cuz. Lamelo was bad for the last couple weeks but Ant was worse for the first three months, and overall the numbers are clear that Lamelo was better when you look at the whole thing. It's not knocking him or his future potential to take into account the whole year in the rookie of the year, and the hole Ant created in the first like 60% of this season was just too big for him to catch up. I have no ties or loyalties to either team or player and it seems obvious to me that Lamelo takes this, has the better stats, advanced stats (by far), and played a huge role on a surprisingly good team, often as that team's leader. That's too much for Ant to hang with given how bad his first half+ of the season was.

Here's the only argument that makes sense to me: arguing that, if Lamelo didn't miss those games, he was going to be as bad as he has been the past couple weeks, hence would've had a flipped version of Ant's season. I could see that as an argument but I also don't think it's that credible: rookies who are competent+legit good NBA players the first half of the season might have some rough patches but it's not likely they'll just be terrible for the whole 2nd half of the season.
