I am interested to see how Wemby puts together a strong offensive game.

I think it's clear that his athleticism will help on defense but on offense I'm worried he's going to be try to play like a less efficient version of Durant. Maybe for the first few years he has to because of his frame. But if he stays that way then it will limit his ceiling.

Anthony Davis seems like the best comp overall.

Even if his game on offense is mostly less efficient Durant, he'll still have a free 10+ points or whatever a game at the basket from being Space Jam sized.

Yeah I want to see more of an inside game to make him a top 5 player in the league.

Jokic is an example of a player that's optimiser their game based on their talents. How does Wemby optimiser his talents? What does that look like?

I mean it's not rocket science, you know that thing that porzingis does where he gets the ball, turns around to face the basket, then shoots over people and misses them all? Do the same, just make them.

You're gonna be waiting indefinitely then. I'll be sure to come back and remind you at the end of the year when you have nothing to say :)

Why exactly do you *hope* he becomes a bust? Why would you not want a generational talent to succeed?

Did you mean more efficient Durant? He's shooting 64% so far in preseason.

Reggie Miller had a pic of him and Wemby standing back to back acting like 7'4" is a surprise. Reggie played with Rik Smits for crying out loud.

For whatever reason, on the offensive side, I see a lot of young Dirk as a comparator. He has that kind of fluidity, similar quickness, better handles, better length…. And then you have the defensive side.

Hope they bring him along slowly, though. Putting too much on him too fast may break him or lead to a lower final ceiling (thinking of guys like KAT, LaMello who seem to have stagnated a bit because thrust into too big a role too early)

What's crazy about that picture is that despite Reggie shoulders being lower, Victors hands reach lower than Reggies hands. His wingspan and arm length are jarring.

He and Rik may be the same height but Rik had a 7'7" wingspan while Victor has an 8'0".

Zinger is a very good shooter.

Wemby is basically if Slenderman wanted to play in the NBA.

What pick # in a fantasy draft is right for Wemby? How much of a standard $200 auction budget would be right?

He's pretty raw offensively. Yea it's crazy to see some of the moves he can pull at his size but in general he looks like he's gonna need a couple years to develop some go to moves and spots on the floor.

That said, he should get 10 points a game just on easy put back dunks, transition scoring and just being around the rim. We'll see where SA positions him and how they use him. I agree he can't play like Durant, but imo he's like AD either. He's closer to like rookie Porzingis perhaps, with more size even.

I got him for $32 a couple weeks ago in our 14 team competitive league, that's like mid to late 3rd round price. Felt maybe too high at the time but now feels pretty good. In snake drafts he's going like 18-25 it seems after his preseason raised his stock a bit.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

He's a lot more agile than Porzingis and plays bigger. Supersize AD and I bet he scores 20+ pts a game for SAS.

Well yea Porzingis now after torn ACL and all sorts of other issues. Rookie Zinger was a different player. I don't see the Davis comp but hey, if we all agreed it would be a boring forum.

I got him for $26 in one and I drafted him late 3rd in another. Good values that I can't get now. I don't think I'd ever take him in round 2 so if he goes 18-25 I won't get him and $30 I'd pay, but any more I don't know.

A bit off topic so I'll make this my last but yea, 18-25 is too high but he's not gonna be there at 30-35 most likely if your draft is this week. That's why auction drafts are just better, allows you to target who you want at the price you want and don't have to rely on draft position.
