Before you ask why, he can't get an MVP when all past 3 time winners had a chip. It'll never happen. The whole Jokic MVP discussion is a moot point.

I think it’s a roll of the dice out of the guys you listed, if the season ended now you could make an argument for any of these guys winning it

I respect him. In any other year he'd be top 2 or 3... But given that he has already won two I can't see how he gets another. They wouldn't even give Giannis 2 and he's won a chip, but they'll give Jokic 3 with zero chips? It essentially puts him as a top 10 to 20 player of all time. Which you can't be without a chip.

I don't mean to ruin your day, because I genuinely like you ...

But from minute 43 on you get a pretty clear preview of what next year's voting will lead to, if things stay as they are rn ...

So another excuse?

Please address 2021 and 2022. Did you not read all the way or stopped at 2020? Looking forward to the excuses for 2021 and 2022.

1. The MVP is decided before the playoffs. Chips are irrelevant to MVP.

2. You laughed off Jokic and pimped Embiid all year last season, every single day here, said Jokic had no chance of another MVP, said his MVP the year before was illegitimate, ranted about voter fatigue, Nuggets team record, etc. etc..

And yet, Jokic won MVP easily. Again.

Second, you wouldn't consider these guys top 10-20 all time?

I would have Jokic winning it again but I just can't see him getting 3 straight MVPs with no finals appearances. But if we're voting based on regular season, like this award is supposed to be voted on then as of now :
Jokic
Durant
Embiid
Giannis
Tatum

Anything about media wanting Jokic to get another one is simply gibberish. Why would they want that? Jokic is not a part of the culture, unlike all the other players. Joel winning it is a dream for the media, given his persona, attitude, history with the Sixers, relationships with other notable guys like Ben Simmons and Butler, duo with Harden, Philadelphia's obsession with sports, African descent...

Jokic comes from a small country in South-Eastern Europe, has no social media, no presence in the culture, does not go to concerts, clubs and parties with other players or famous rappers, actors, etc, ain't doing interviews except obligatory ones, no one knows what's he doing during the summer (not even us Serbs)... So why would the media want him to win it? He's not attractive for them, unlike Joel, Luka, Ja and the rest of the guys.

Nikola is doing his job, as he had said the other day, and that's about it.

Yes, the Media is helping an introverted Serb totally cut off from American culture

Jokic is a beast. He plays everything and plays like the best. And now it seems the team is gonna help. No chance for Embiid.

Then Embiid can't miss two more games this season - need I remind you that only 1 MVP in 40+ years has missed over 10 games? Embiid is almost there, if he gets there it's a moot point.
