Fans support their millions and it's call road show. If Taylor Swift can play in Ind or Cleveland, what's the problem? Their time off is Monday thru Wednesday. Why do your care if they play in LA or NY or Ind anyway? For the record, they played a Superbowl in Minneapolis in February.

Why do you care what I care for?

Exactly, so we continue to play all star games in all the cities including Cleveland and Salt Lake City.

KAT wasn't trying to win, he was trying to score a lot. he was actively cherry picking at the end and put up more shots than the next two west players combined...

and then he celebrated his "achievement" of scoring 50 against a defense that put up literally no resistance.

lol he took 22 shots in the paint which were effectively all lay-ups and dunks with nobody even trying to contest anything. At least the other guys jacking up 3 pointers still had to make them.

At least he had a lot of cool dunks, which is one of the things you want to see in an All-Star game.

With this game Silver is telling the masses teams scoring 200p and players scoring 100+ is about to become the norm.

It makes no nonsense. :curse:

Exhibition games aren't a 3 point spamming contest

Yeah, they are.
And dunking displays.
And fancy dribbling demonstrations.
And pretty passing performances.

It's an Entertainment Exhibition,

For it it be entertainment, it has to be entertaining.

These All-Star games are basically glorified shootarounds.

Just because we live in these smaller cities and enjoy it doesn't mean a millionaire athlete feels the same. These dudes are use to big city bright lights. They don't want to spend their in season vacation in a cold city with not much attraction.

These guys come for the parties anyway. Why not do it in a attractive city.

The location of the game doesn't matter. Players are going to half-ass regardless.

And besides, who cares what the players want? They get paid to play the games. The All-Star weekend is meant to be for fans to see the top players play against each other. Not those players getting a cushy weekend to party in LA or whatever. They can do that in their own time.

Crazy that the game used to be criticized for lack of defense and just becoming a slam dunk contest

Now it’s criticized for lack of defense and being a 3 point shootout

I preferred the dunks

He only tried on offense when the game was out of reach.

He was a traffic cone per usual on defense.

It’s more fun or at least easier to just pull up and bomb a 3. Even dunking is too much work now so the all star games will be even more 3 pt shooting in the future

I don't think he should necessarily be praised for his performance, but it does seem silly to criticize him for it. And I think he tried the whole game on offense, he just got the ball a lot more in the 4th quarter.

The reason Kat scored so much is actually obvious but prob will remain unproved ... He prob had family/friends collude to bet on him OVER for points, and he obliged to score for them. I mean is that even illegal? Every player had their over/under points between like 10-20 - it so EASY to manipulate this in an all-star game I'm surprised they even had the lines. A guy could easily go under points too by just passing everything and trying to get assists.

It's literally the easiest/quickest way to make your family rich without actually giving them any money. Long lost cousin wants $10K from KAT - He says no, but tells him to just bet over points during the AS game & he'll get it. Both sides are happy

they could experiment with different scoring per quarter

1st qtr... only 2's for all made shots
2nd qtr... 3pt line makes activated
3rd qtr... 3pts awarded only for paint makes
4th qtr... 3pt line activate, blocks worth 3pts
overtime... traditional rules, no bonuses
.

TV ratings for the All Star game are deservedly on a significant downward trend right along with the downward trend in player effort. I suspect the vast majority of basketball fans who have seen an NBA All Star game or two in the last decade don't waste their time watching another one, or when they do watch another one, they regret it. The game in SLC last year had just 4.59 million viewers. The game in SLC in 1993 had 22.91 million viewers.

Arguably one of the worst all-star weekends in recent memory. The last semi-competitive game IIRC was maybe 19' or 20'? Whichever one that had the designated score in the 4th and Lowry started taking charges. Probably the last time I saw the teams playing semi defense was in that 4th quarter.

The Dunk contest was a manufactured scam for Brown.
3/10 Weekend IMO and the 3 points come from the 3pt contest and shootout with Sabrina.
