All those things have a big impact on winning. However, his shot-making has been ass and borderline embarrassing. His decision-making at the end of games is the most concerning thing moving forward. In yesterday's game, he attacks the rim with under a minute left up 5. I like the attack but then he flails and throws some soft bs up which led to a fast break. He really has no move he can go to in the paint and is always looking for a foul call to bail him out. If not for White's chase down, it would have been a 3 pt lead at that point. I don't trust him in those moments because he plays with no force. It's hard to watch over and over. Overall, I would give him a B- so far but I can't blame people when they say Boston is a hard watch.
This is exactly where I fall lol. He is getting way too much of a pass from the fans and way too much irrational and often times factually wrong hate from the haters.
Bottom line is this, Tatum has shot like absolute ass and he needs to shoot better. No, the defense swarming him is not a good excuse to shoot 27% from the field. As if other stars don't deal with this. Weak, WEAK excuse... On the other hand, no, Tatum has not played poorly overall. To say otherwise is just you admitting that the only way you judge how well or poorly a player has played is how well they shot the ball and how many points they had. Very casual and wrong way to judge that. There are so many other things that goes into winning a basketball game than just that. And Tatum has excelled at everything else but that so far. He deserves hate for his abysmal shooting but not for his overall play.
