The only problem I see in Drose is his inconsistency. Beyond that, he's one of the more promising stars in this league. And he's only 21!!!

If you have to ask why is Rose considered a GOOD basketball player, maybe you shouldn't be watching professional basketball or basketball at any level for that matter. If you have to ask why is Derrick Rose a GOOD player you know nothing about basketball at all.

Not the end all be all of discussion those stats, however, I have my doubts he knows how to run a team. Fast and explosive yes...a smart floor general..? A good shooter? a good defender?

Rose is a good player. My eyes prove this when I watch Bulls games.

However I think he gets hyped up too much, maybe because Bulls fans see him as their new hope - which is to be expected, given he's the most promising player drafted since MJ - but it leads to lofty expectations and weird comparisons. He's a good mid-range shooter & driver, but a below average defender and an average playmaker for his position. To me, he'd be better suited as a shooting guard, but giving him a true inside presence in Boozer this season will define his role.

I don't think he has more of an impact on the game than a guy like Brandon Jennings though, if you compare the Bucks to the Bulls, Milwaukee only had the 'on paper' advantage at C last season, yet they outperformed the Bulls and finished with the better record.

Rose is clearly a good player, but I think he's a tad bit overrated by Bulls fans. Any weaknesses you point out in his game will quickly be excused (normally the teammates excuse.

It's the catch-all excuse for ANYTHING it seems. Good stats on a bad team? Empty stats. Good stats on a good team? His teammates helped! Bad stats on a bad team? He needs better teammates! Bad stats on a good team? He's just playing his role/look at him win/he doesn't get the ball enough.

The Bulls had several players out with injuries. Which included a 10 game losing streak which saw Rose Deng and Noah all out for the final stretch of the season.
