Growing up in the greater LA area, you have to understand that we have had our hearts broken by bull crap over and over again when it came to sports.

2 Football teams leave us in the same year, Dodgers owners take the team down with them in the divorce, Kings trade Wayne Gretzky.... Clippers. The Only Sports team we ever believe is always trying to win a Ship for the city is the Lakers.

Now I understand that the ball boy may just be a kid who like KG. There is no big deal there. But when It comes to being a ball boy for one of the most storied franchises in all of sports, in one of the most populated cities in the world, there are millions of Kids who would kill for that Job. And since there are no skills required to being a ball boy, the only thing that makes any one kid more qualified to be a ball boy then another is your love for the team.

Loving the Lakers also means hating the Celtics. Just like I imagine that loving the Celtics also means hating the Lakers. There are plenty of Kids in LA that love the Lakers enough to not ask KG for an autograph. Let one of them have the job.

The Kid was probably wanting KG to sign the ball so he could hawk it off on E-Bay later ..

Come on, you hope Kevin GArnett dies in a fire because he wouldn't sign your son's autograph.

You sir, got problems.

This is basketball. Yu don't know Kevin GArnett except for what you see on TV. This applies to everyone as well. If you are that deeply affected by what Kevin GArnett said to the kid, which isn't even an insult just a witty remark, then you got some problems you need to work out.

Andre w Bogut says something much worse to a BUCKS ballboy , not a Philly ballboy or whoever the hell the Bucks rival are. And yet nobody cares.

Why?

KG hate threads are the jokes.

Typical realgm hating on KG. If this was anybody else this wouldnt be newsworthy. But the fact it's KG makes it 10+ pages of hate.

do people not realize that superstars/people who are in the media OFTEN are held to a different standard because of the wide age/race demographic they are exposed to? sure, we all have freedom of speech, blah blah blah...fact of the matter is, we are not all on TV preaching to kids obsessed with certain sports and certain athletes...is it normal??? no....but its not about the written rules, its about setting an example and realizing that YOU are the voice speaking to not only the media, but the legions of followers that track every word as well...its more about morals than rules...and until the general population learns the difference, we will always be dealing with "people who want to be right" vs "people who dont care if theyre right, they just want what's best"

I don't have a problem with this, the ballboy should know better. Rep for YOUR team, get all their autographs. If you happen to run into opposing team's players outside the arena/game atmosphere, no prob. But if a pic comes out that KG's out there giving an autograph to a kid dressed in Laker gear, it may make him look bad to his home team crowd.

I understand the rivalry, and same goes to a Redskins player, giving out signatures to kids dressed in Cowboys jerseys.

Who said he was 12? And what did he "get"? KG saying no to an autograph?

This. That kid is someone's son and he didn't deserve the snub. But then KG is a coward that bullies little people . Peeler had the right idea.

But did you ever consider he wanted KG"s autograph so he could sell it and buy Lakers gear? That's what I'd do if I were in his position. I'd get the autograph for a few bucks. Then i'd buy something off the Lakers. In the end it would help the Lakers organization. :P

I can't wait to see KG do something as bad as this at the Target Center. March 27, book it!
