Did I miss something? When did Derrick Williams, Michael Beasley, and JJ Barea become all-stars? I could have sworn posters are treating them like that. Its downright sad

Minny can do alot with this trade:

Basically trade:

DWill + Beasley + Barea + Wes

for

Reddick, and Gasol, who they flip for Scola and Martin

Trade Scola for any SF, Portland would take him, salaries almost match.

Rubio/Ridnour
KMart
Crash/Reddick
Love
Pek

Pretty scary

Why the hell would the Wolves do this?

Exactly, Beasley is garbage on a team like the Wolves and Barea's come a dime a dozen. And like others have said, Williams has been a disappointment.

Because Gasol is better than Beasley + Williams + Barea. And if they wanted turn around and trade Gasol for Ellis or Scola/Marin/Dragic/1st.

Well I think unless anyone else here is puerto rican and knows about that paper, knowing the credibility of that paper which is the source in OP, should be taken into account.

The Magic are not trading anyone with value in a trade of Dwight Howard. We aren't giving away Redick or Anderson.

That would be a horrible trade. That doesn't even make sense. Minnesota is trading 4 players who have done nothing with them for Paul Gasol. Then can flip him for 2 actually good players.

It's not that Barea and Beasley are average players, it's the fact there's no reason for the them to trade them along with the #2 overall pick. Even if he's struggling, Williams is still the #2 overall pick in this past year's draft, his value isn't suddenly nothing.

And with the emergence of Pekovic, the T'Wolves have a fantastic young and cost-effective core locked up long-term. I don't see them wanting to break up that core and not add to their weakness - getting a perimeter player. If they will Williams isn't that, that's fine. Don't panic after half a season for Gasol when you don't have a need for a center.

I would do this deal if I'm Orlando, though.

Or they could not do that and simply trade for a wing instead. And Gasol might be better, but the dude is 32 years old making 20 million a year and is already starting to decline, and plays the same position as Love and Pekovic. It makes no freaking sense for us to trade for him since it destroys our cap and locks us into this roster and this roster isnt even a contender due to its still horrible wing play

Plus, it makes no freakin sense to have to sit one of your best players in crunch time because no way can love pekovic and gasol play at the same time. So one of those guys would be rotting on the bench and while wes/webster and ridnour would be playing the two wing spots. MAKES NO SENSE

And no way Gasol gets that much. The dude is simply too old and gets paid too much to get that much in return

Maybe, but that team with Pau is much improved, Rubio/Love/Pau is an awesome team. Pau takes that team to a new level. It's time for the Wolves to stop being cheap and take a step forward.

He's not about to take a 12 million dollar a year pay cut.

What level are they going to? 8 seed? Pek playing 20 minutes a game and they trade their best asset, while in win-now mode and just leaving the basement, without addressing their biggest area of need.

T'Wolves have finally become good, they shouldn't do a trade like this without getting significantly better. Besides, it's Kahn, he won't trade a PG and get a big in return  .
