IF he can stay healthy from now on the Potential is truly there.

His combination of Size, agility,Footwork,Shooting is special.
Will he ever reach Hakeem,Shaq,Kareem level? Unlikley but not impossible.

I'm hoping for Hakeem, but I guess I'd settle for Patrick. :D

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

They said his foot was fully healed before the draft as well, and until we see him on the floor, it's premature to say he hasn't lost anything and we have to see whether that foot will hold up.

Before which draft? In 2014 he was fresh from surgery. In 2015 it was announced before the draft that there had been some kind of a setback in the healing on the scan that was not there in the prior scan.

This time the medical team has said he is fully healed and he is playing 5-on-5 at the Sixers facility. This is a stage he did not get to last time.

It was the Cavaliers medical staff who caught the problem in Embiid's foot when he came in for a draft workout. His doctors had been telling everyone he had a clean bill of health before that - remember they shut him down at Kansas.

His ability to play 5-on-5 in practice doesn't tell us whether his bone structure will hold up nor for how long, but I seem to recall some people making the argument that Embiid at a high-level for even just a few years was good value for the pick.

Hopefully we'll at least get a chance to see if he can play. With Oden at least we saw he could have been great if his body hadn't kept failing him.

Why is he in a Lakers training facility in that video? Embiid to the Lakers confirmed.

I need to see what he can do against a chair before I make a fair evaluation.

I'm assuming his trainer is from LA, wears UCLA gear.

Yeah, I'm sure you could do much better.

That movement, touch, and athleticism is mighty impressive for a 7'-2'' human being. Get your eyes checked buddy.

He once had the chance of being pretty special (although never Shaq or Hakeem level, more like Patrick Ewing level or something along there,) but severe foot injuries later when he was already working with heavy feet and just above average athleticism before them, is likely a sign that he'll never be able to touch that really high upside he once had. He's lost two+ years of developing his skill level (which was one of his strongest points,) and he's reportedly just gotten bigger (which likely means even more stress on his joints and less mobility.) I know people are excited about him returning (hopefully,) but the outlook he had during his freshman year is gone now, best move on to the new reality and just hope for the best.

seems like he didn't waste any time developing that jumper from all over the court, which he didn't have 2 years ago. and he ain't throwing the ball down with any less authority. last year, he was throwing Nerlens all over the court before the scan came back. now the scans show complete recovery. as Sam said, the talent is top scale, if he don't bust anything else.
