I'm a contrarian at heart, so I'm hoping Barnes proves everyone wrong. Proving people wrong is such a great feeling.

It's as obvious now as it was at the time that his contract is horrendous. That said, it's completely unfair to extrapolate his preseason performance to the regular season and beyond.
And just like that, the lead has been cut to 8!

A very efficient 19 - 9 debut. Where are the haters?

They will come... will Point out "well 19-9 are not that great considering it was a Game with overtime.."

I think the hating was waaaay overboard.. It very well turn out to be that he simply needs some Time to get used to beeing asked to Score 20 every night.

It was one game, relax, and his defense was pretty bad. The whole team mailed it in on the defensive end. On the plus side, our offense looked really good.

If he averages 19 & 9 he won't have haters. His issue is consistency so we'll see where he goes from here.

Yeah he can't be judged on one game, but everyone sure was judging him by his practice games. At least we already know he's a good defender though, though some people want to disagree with that because of DRPM and all that (guess Bradley is average and Klay sucks on D then) ...

But him turning down that 16 million dollar offer set in motion the greatest free agency signing in our franchise history. Everybody knows Cuban gave him that huge contract offer hoping the Warriors would match and handcuff our salary cap for the next 4 years. I really hope he finds some success... just glad it's with someone else.

They couldn't match once they agreed to Durant because they had to release Barnes' cap hold. I mean at least know the most basic of details when myopically focusing on your own team like this.

The reality is Cuban made a bad decision in overpaying a guy who wasn't getting much interest at the money he wanted, but screwing the Warriors was the least of his concerns.

One of the best things about Harrison Barnes is that he is not Chandler Parsons.
Efficient 19/9? I will take it. Hopefully his confidence will grow along with consistency. Maybe preseason Barnes is gone.

If he can be an 18-8 guy on good efficiency and solid D I'll take it, he'll still be overpaid because even though his stats look good last night, it was really minimal impact to the game.

Came to congratulate HB on a good game. Made the game tying 3 on a great feed from Dirk. Kinda digging the Mavs roster, they're like the Hall of Really Goodish Players and Dirk.

"It's just 1 game" is what they say after Barnes performed well in an actual game that counts. From the same people that concluded he was a failure based on 5 preseason games. Funny.

I said this months ago, that Barnes will be an 18/8 guy once he leaves GSW. I think the presence of Draymond and the weight of what GSW was chasing, can crush the confidence of a mental midget like Barnes but he absolutely possesses the requisite skills to be a solid, consistent contributer.. I just thought it would be on the T-Wolves.

Dallas lost that game cause carlise for some reason had dirk at the 5. In no shape or form should dirk ever be the 5. Play Bogut, Majri, Hammons or even Acy next to dirk or powell. Don't ever put powell at the 5 either.

I was kinda hoping he'd go to minnesota too.

Not a Barnes fan (yet), but isn't putting up 19/9 in an unflashy way even better than doing it on a real high usage?
Btw he hit the game tying three and scored 5 of his points in OT so there was at least some impact.

I agree Dirk should never play the 5, but he had to be out there and he looked horrible on the 4 against the Pacers small ball lineup on defense so playing him there was the only solution. Turner schooled him, though.

Bogut didn't look good at all, and although Dirk & Bogut looks like a good combo on paper, for some reason they can't coexist on the court together thus far. Bogut is used to facilitating to ball on the top of the key from his GSW days, but in the Mavs offense he lessens Dirks space.

His averages will end up being noticeably lower than they were on that game. 8-)

Well, 19-9 are not that great considering it wasn't enough for his team to win.

It is a great feeling to be right when people doubt you....unfortunately this isn't one of those cases......
I'm so tired of the typical......

Just wait till he hits a cold spell. Warriors fans liked him for good game chunks then he'd have these nightmare games like in the finals and you just wonder why are we so invested in this guy? What happened to him? Hopefully Carlisle sits him when he turns to ice.

Hopefully getting a bigger role changes him for the better, I like the Mavs & Dirk. Bogut is one of my favorite players too, so while I like the Mavs I still expect bad things from HB.
