That would be wildly unnecessary. Unless there's tampering going on Silver has no business dictating what Doncic does.

He probably doesn't know himself what he wants to do at this point. He's 19 years old.

Duffy is an experienced agent. He will lay out the options for his client.

In my view, Doncic could be the best player ever to come out of Europe, and that's saying alot. He has the leverage to steer himself to a winning NBA franchise if that's what he wants to do. But certainly it's not in his best interests at this point to badmouth the Suns or the Kings, which might scare them away. He will make more money if he is drafted #1 or #2 instead of #4 or #5, and going to Memphis or Dallas is not much of an improvement over Phoenix or Sacramento.

Kid already seems to be great.

I don’t think he has that type of impact. A tier below these two.

I am just gonna ask this. Are any of you gonna watch Euroleague final 4?
CSKA-Real Madrid game is on NBA TV 15:00 (I guess they not showing Zalgiris-Fenerbahche which is a shame)
Would it be at all worth it to create a thread on general board?
We have international board, but its completely dead.

Worse. I would set expectations at all rookie first team. He is definitely the most seasoned rookie, but someone from college gonna set the league on fire out of nowhere like it always happens. I dont think Doncic has game to do it right away, he started the season very well, but has been rather trash as of late.

I’m only going to ask you about your first sentence. Do you honestly think he doesn’t know what he wants to do? If you think that you seriously don’t know much about Luka. He is ultra competitive and has always, always wanted to play in the NBA. Honestly why is it so hard to believe the obvious conclusion here? Which is he absolutely will and wants to join the NBA. But, he won’t do it while disrespecting his current team, coaches, fans and support staff. Think about it for a minute and you will find that you would do the same in his shoes.
He has the best options possible at the moment, Suns coach at #1, Bogdan, Vlade, Peja and the Kings at #2.
Koko speaks with him every week and Bogdan has spoken to him already since the lottery and he would love to be teammates with him.

All these rational people keep saying "Can we let him finish his season? Then hear his announcement?"

Come on, guys, just give him a few more days before the pitchforks. I haven't heard a single quote attributed to him that infers he may actually stay another year with RM.

That’s where I think he will be, to me the scaling isn’t too far.
I think someone is going to put up 20+ppg from this draft class and win ROY, Bagley, but Luka’s impact on the court will be greater, however not recognised so much.
I’m thinking 14/5/ 6 from Luka as a floor going to Suns or Kings.

How has he been trash lately? He just wasnt playing as well as the first part fo the season but was still the best player of a F4 team. Did you really expect him to play on the same level the whole season as the first 3 months? He was playing unreal basketball until end of January and then got burned out which resulted in sickness and all the small injuries like we predicted in his thread before it happened. Saying he was trash when he was the best player on a F4 team is just silly.

He hasnt been very good at all lately. His last ACB game was atrocious. just in love with that 3 ball, thats not dropping. I understand that his first few months were unsustainable, and set a very high standard, but his recent play has been extremely underwhelming. I obviously judge him differently, he is touted as all time great international prospect, and when you put that standard, he has been trash.

“Ι’m not sure if these are the last two games [in EuroLeague]. We have yet to make this decision. Perhaps after the season,”
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

His game should translate, but thats not enough, he still needs to develop, as he is still a prospect. He shows flashes of James Harden, but he is far away from that.

- on Wednesday morning first thing he checked, which three teams won the lottery;
- immediately he sent message to Kokoskov and congratulate him;
- Luka said it is clear that it would be clearly the easiest transformation for him if he would have Kokoskov as his first coach in NBA;
- immedately after the lottery he also received message from Bogdanovic, that they will maybe become teammates. He like that idea;
- he is in regular contact with Kokoskov, even now after the lottery. He is special coach for him.

So just to finish with this funny discussion:
- until he finish season with Real, he won't say anything about how he will go to NBA next season. But everybody know, he will go. Even his coach Pablo Laso said this week, that he have only one wish regarding Luka. That Luka bring to Real Euroleague Championship this weekend;
- He clearly prefer going to Phoenix because of Kokoškov;
- but he don't have any problems with alternative in Sacramento, because he would feel familiar with so many Serbians in the organisation;

Finally some real information. Thank you for sharing!

So one thing is what his agent actually said. And the other is speculation of a sports writer who wants to get clicks. :crazy: wonder which is more accurate

Think he wanted to go to Phx. but we lucked out for the first time in HISTORY and got the first pick. He knows damn well we cant pass on Anthony Davis.....ooops I mean AYTON, hehe. If he now hurts his draft stock enough and say gets picked later by tanking his value because the first say 8 or 9 teams dont want to risk taking him if he might not come then he can fall to the range down enough where the Suns can trade up using our assets to still get him. I think his agent is on purpose tanking his value, dont know if someone has said this already, didnt read all 10 pages.

There are people in this thread that are demanding some really disgusting things because Luka didn't publicly quit on his team in the days leading up to the Euroleague Final Four?

Is this real life?

Has an NCAA player ever declared right before the Final Four? Because that is far worse basketball than the Euroleague Championships.

Get a grip people.

If I were a Sac fan I might be a little sick to my stomach at the thought of him leveraging his position. Otherwise, just hold your horses.
