Greece needs defenders. I can't believe they didn't play his brother more.

Spanoulis had a successful euroleague career but failed in his nba stint. Giannis has been great in the nba and gets all the praise, everybody outside of Greece considers him the best Greek player of all time. This gets into Mirotic12's nerves since he is obsessed with Spanoulis and waits every opportunity available to attack Giannis. It is not restricted to Giannis, ask him about Gallis who used to be the consensus best Greek player of all time (and probably still is between Greek fans). This could be the reason he hates nba as well, since Spanoulis flopped there it is not a real league.

That's true. I even remember Mirotic12 saying that Spanoulis was a better player than my fellow countryman, Manu Ginobili... And explained his reasons with such a passion! :D

Mirotic12 is delusional about Spanoulis and a bit hypocritical towards Euro ball, the thing he says often, I doubt he himseld believes it, just tries to convince others how Euro ball is great. And he doesnt value NBA accomplishments whatsoever, when comparing players and such.

So, now we see Giannis' numbers in the NBA, after playing at the 2019 FIBA World Cup:

Giannis Antetokounmpo's 2019 NBA stats:

29.9 points per game
13.9 rebounds per game
6.4 assists per game

Giannis Antetokounmpo's 2019 FIBA stats:

14.8 points per game
8.8 rebounds per game
2.4 assists per game

In this thread, some people claimed that Giannis' FIBA stats are worse than his NBA stats because of his "coaches and teammates", However, Giannis himself disagreed with that when he was asked that question by European sports media. Giannis himself said that the NBA's rules and reffing just make it much easier and that is the reason.

“Playing with FIBA I was like a prisoner.” He mentioned talking about his tough experience in China. “I just got out of the cage, the cell. I am free now.”

In the World Cup in 25 minutes per game, he averaged 14.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals per match. The Bucks certainly expect a larger contribution this upcoming season and Antetokounmpo himself is ready to deliver.

“The rules, the way basketball is played in FIBA, the spacing. I felt like I was playing one against five every time I had the ball” he said looking back on the summer global competition, “It’s totally different here. I prefer NBA basketball.”
