Don't do what specifically? Relish watching OG Anunoby's fantastic development over last season and his worth ethic unfolding improved offensive skills in the future?

Sixers fans don’t deserve the team that they have. Earlier in the season regretted signing Tobias, before the Celtics game contemplated trading Embiid, after the Celtics game time to trade Simmons... The sky isn't falling every time is rains. Relax.Spoiler:
I don't think being open to a trade for a perfect fit with Embiid Superstar like Dame makes me a bad Sixers fan. Beal's another one I'd have some interest in but it'd probably require Rui too. Can you really say that the current roster swapping Ben for Dame doesn't make them favorites by a wide margin?
What if the Bucks fearing they could lose Giannis come and pitch a GIannis for SImmons swap? Would you look down on us Sixers fans that might jump at that swap?
Outside of a select few, most of us Sixers fans get frustrated with Ben but wouldn't trade Ben unless it's a great deal.

Trade Summons to Charlotte. Simmons for Graham and another piece or draft pick.

So you are saying Rondo for Simmons? Lakers may consider it if Philly is willing to throw in a couple of draft picks

I'd Call up GS and see if I could get DRussell while getting out of the harris contract.
Something like Drussell, Eric, burks and 2020 1st for Simmons and Harris. I think that trade works for both teams. Simmons with shooters like Curry, Klay, harris around him would be deadly.

It's sad that the obsession over Simmons' shooting while ignoring everything he excels at has gotten to the point where I think you're joking but I'm not 100% positive

I don't think this is true at all. I think it is precisely the opposite. That's the reason why there is constant speculation about trading him. Everybody can see that Simmons and Embiid are a bad pairing.
Simmons may have the talent to be a top 10 overall player, but it's not happening on a team with a clogged lane and suspect shot creators on the perimeter.

People gotta realize something about the Embiid vs TOR matchup. They design their entire scheme around stopping Embiid and forcing our perimeter guys to carry the load. Butler was getting better looks against the Raps than he was against a much worse defensive team in BKN. At the end of the day, Jimmy was damn near neutral on the court while Embiid was +89. Jimmy was not the biggest reason we took the Raps to a Game 7 buzzer beater.
I agree Embiid was the more impactful player for the series, but Butler provided something that 76ers really needed: elite shot creation from the perimeter.
Not something that's going be easy for them to find long term with 2 max slots committed to players who provide none of it
I just disagree with this narrative TBH. Butler was a guy that would drive to the basket and draw contact, but strictly in terms of perimeter scoring J Rich is legitimately better than Jimmy. Unlike Redick he can create off the dribble and unlike Jimmy he's a high volume 3pt shooter (on good efficiency).
Ultimately Embiid is top dog in the scoring department (just like he was with Butler on the team) and Tobias gets the nod for #2. He's doing well in that role so far.
While he doesnt necessarily get his points from the perimeter, Jimmys a guy you can just give the ball at the 3 point line and let him go to work.
And maybe my view of Tobias is skewed because the only time i regularly watched him was in that Raptors series where he played poorly

Ben literally carried the team in game 6. Casual take
Wow, He had one game where he was maybe better than Butler offensively cause he was able to get a some buckets in transition.
Ben Simmons 4th quarter scoring for the series:
0,2,0,2, DNP, 2, 4.
Yeah but what you judge Draymond the same way during the Dubs' dynasty? Ben was 5th in the scoring pecking order last year. Arguably this year too, but Horford/J Rich/Ben are all close at 3-5.
I guess if thats the role you see for him thats fine. Just think its gonna be tough to consitently field a good team long term where you have a max contract guy that may be your 5th scoring option

This thread is a f'n joke.
Forget the 24 and 11 last night. Dude held Kemba to 1-for-8 in the 2nd half on Thursday night.
I love how people like the OP focus on what he can't do...as opposed to what he DOES.
Classic RealGM. Nice.

The only place I see "speculation" about Simmons being traded is in ridiculous threads on RealGM.

A GM would lose his job if he drafted Draymond number 1, he's a great player but nobody in their right mind wants that with the first pick. Right now the only reason why the media doesn't make a bigger fuss about Simmons is because he still has "potential" attached to him because of his age and the hope that he becomes more of an offensive threat.
If Simmons lays another egg in the playoffs nobody is going to point to his defense and applaud it, they will focus on why the number 1 pick isn't getting you more scoring.
If that is how teams and the media look at first picks, it might explain why there are so many busts and why the talking heads are laughed at today vs respected. Because a draymond green peak for multiple years would be better than most first overall picks.
Number 1 picks are expected to be able to carry the scoring load and have players put around them. Draymond at his peak was not a franchise player which is what you're hoping to get in the draft, he was a great roleplayer that you put around those number 1 type of guys. A team built solely around Draymond would have been terrible.
Number 1 picks are expected to become top 10 players in the nba and make all nba teams. Just like Green has done. This idiotic idea they have to score is absurd. Oden was one of the most hyped and talked about prospects of all time and the BIG question was if he could become an elite scorer. That was a HUGE question.

Simmons dominates and plays at his best when Embiid sits. Embiid likes to slow the game down and have the ball passed into him where he is effective in scoring inside, Simmons likes to run and gun, similar to Magic Johnson. They have completely contrasting play styles and cancel out each other’s effectiveness. You simply cannot expect big games from Simmons when Embiid is playing.
1. What is a worthy trade for Simmons?
2. Of all teams factoring in coaches, what is the best team for Simmons to be traded to in order for him to develop to his full potential and become the best version of himself?

The Knicks will take him. You can have an unprotected pick.

Earvin was a career 84.8% free throw shooter. Ben gets "hack-a" treatment at the end of games. Big difference.

Lotta problems with Sixers fit but the lane isn’t clogged on Simmons drives and the shooters are at the very least above average. Gotta get more subtle about the criticisms (and by extension the suggestions).

I said it before the season started and all the 6ers fans thought I was wrong. I do believe the 6ers team is really talented, problem is today's NBA revolves around shooting. You either keep Simmons and trade Embiid or the other way around- you trade Simmons and keep Embiid. I do feel as if Simmons could be a slightly lite(r) version of Giannis, he's somewhat similar but not as physically strong.
Good assessment:

This is a bizarre thread lol. Sixers are playing about as well as anyone in the NBA lately, and the idea that the "experiment is close to over"... like what?
People love to talk about how him and Embiid are a bad fit and yet all they've done is win 50+ games two years in a row and are on pace for even more than that this year. Not sure how many other young combinations can say that. Simmons has only been able to fail in advanced stages of the playoffs because his teams have advanced to that point, while many of his contemporaries have either lost in the first round or not made the playoffs at all. Let's see some of the other young players in the game have Kawhi Leonard on them for most of 7 straight games and see how they do.
