I thought Minny was going to sell the farm to get Russell...I was wrong.

So how many players do we have on our roster now?
Burks, GRIII, D'Lo, Evans and Spellman all gone. Steph and Klay still out.
Only Wiggins in.

D-leaguers incoming?

Has Russel ever played on any team that has won anything? Even a team that's won 30 games? There's a bit of emptiness to that as well.

Getting the Nets to the playoffs and being a all star was pretty big and it’s not like he’s having a bad season now

Yeah, totally forgot the Nets made it last year. Guess that answers that question. He was awful in the playoffs though I think.

This trade is abysmal for the Warriors.
It's like the worst case scenario for a D'lo trade.

not really if you look at the fact that Wiggins started the season really better than any other season and showed what he can do when motivated. His problem has always been an unwillingness to play to the last whistle when he doesn't have faith the team around him can win it all.

I don't trust player with no motor to become good.
And even if Wiggins becomes good, this is bad value for the Warriors, they could have gotten more. D'lo may not have huge value, but he's a positive asset, while Wiggins is widely regarded as a negative asset. The difference is only a protected first? I could have accepted the deal with something like 3 firsts with light protection, but this way it is ridiculous.
Also, Spellman is good, no idea why they wanted to give him up. At least they managed to include Evans who is absolutely terrible.

Wiggins has never had good teammates other than a guy who needs to be fed in the paint in KAT , he will fit into the system in GSW easily and should have no problem being motivated when he believes it equates to winning. Dlo is not worth more than Wiggins and a first.

Wiggins might actually work out for gsw, when his teammates space the floor and he gets to drive, he can be unstoppable because he’s a freak athlete. His 3pt shooting over his career is kinda weird, he’s streaky and it seems like his % doesn’t depend on how good the 3pter he took was, so he might frustrate some people because of that. He can play some great 1v1 D but his biggest issue defensively imo is that he just loses focus for a second or two and messes it up because of that. Really curious how he’ll look when Curry and Klay return to form, might be really good actually.

Ugh, Warriors couldn't get anything more for taking Wiggins' max contract? That alone could have been next year's pick. And, Wolves were in totally love with DLO, and Warriors were in no hurry to dump him in this trade deadline. So, why now? I mean, I see some upside in Wiggins and next year's draft will be much better than this year. But as of today, that's pretty crummy return for DLO. They better get under the luxury tax at least...

Might be a pretty decent return for the Dubs, hasn’t Wiggins improved a bit?

Yeah, he went from trash to below average. He might be a starter-quality player by the time he hits 35.

Even if that's their belief, you don't have to yield value in trade.

I'd bet Minnesota trading Covington inadvertently called GS's bluff.

That 2021 pick is only top 3 protected and unprotected in 2022.

It's only top 3 protected, and unprotected the following season (2022) if it doesn't convey. As with all trades involving significant trade assets, it'll probably take a couple of years to know who won this one.

Warriors won this deal. By a landslide.

Tbh is klay and curry come back as the same players it will really give Wiggins a chance to be good as he will be open for shots and cuts more than he ever had before .

not entirely true... he doesn't care is the more reasonable analogy of his problems and the root of that mindset has always been he had no faith in his teammates so he just stays luke warm without that confidence. He can easily take over a game when motivated
