Well I acknowledge I didn't see all of it. But you do have to remember he's going to ripped on in every presser no matter what. Watching as much as I did though there is context to things like this. Frankly they did ask tons of terrible pure political questions to try and pick a fight with him. Sometimes he just skipped and went to a real question. Others yea he'd 'keep it real' so to speak. IMO, the times I saw when he did kind of scold them, he was in the right to do so. They're asking these question because they know eventually he'll pop off and then boom, click bait for all
For example, he made an innocent joke when introducing the head of State Dept about how they call it "deep state". Innocent joke. Just a few minutes later the question is "do you think its appropriate and a good message, is it disrespectful for the president to be calling the people in this department "deep state". That's a terrible question. State handled it well, saying how he knows the president respects everyon in his dept and how hard they're working. Now, onto a real question.
Note, this is coming from someone who hates him and has been critical the whole time.
Fair enough, I agree that it's counterproductive when media-row is overly dramatic or baiting.
The wild thing about the exchange above was that it was a pure softball question, one you often here a reporter ask a leader so they can be reassuring and firm. It almost makes me wonder if Trump misheard the question, his anger doesn't even make sense.
Watch the full exchange. There's an odd juxtaposition happening.
In one moment the reporter asks "Is it possible that your impulse to put a positive spin on things may be giving Americans a false sense of hope and misrepresenting the preparedness right now?" This is in the context of talking about the drug which is approved for other treatments and which has some indications it may be helpful in treating coronavirus, though further testing is needed to confirm.
Trump gives a lengthy response saying the drug is unproven for coronavirus, but he is hopeful it will be effective and there have been some good results with it.
The reporter then asks him "What [does he say] to Americans who are scared?" It's just an odd sequence by the reporter. In the most condensed form he suggests Trump is giving false hope and then asks Trump to give hope. The reporter is taking awaybl or tempering hope then asking the president to give what he's just taken away.
Trump's reaction at the end where he seems to have lost patience or decided it was the right moment to score points isn't the best look either. Trump's going to Trump, and its all kinds of annoying for many of us.
I'd just like to point out though that ramping up production now, before its proven to be effective, is the right thing to do. There's no doubt he would be eviscerated if he didn't do so, or waited until studies confirmed its effectiveness thereby delaying its use. That's why I think the reporter is wrong here. The right thing is being done and we really don't need to be quibbling about the right levels of hope connected to this drug.
Only 7 Players in NBA history have 21,000 points, 5,750 assists and 5,750 rebounds. LeBron has double those numbers.
