Didn’t MJ once say Sprewell played him as good as anyone he’d faced? It was during Sprees time in GS I think.

Lebron stans in this thread.

MJ only faced small guards between 6’3-6’4 (this is a lie)
MJ is only really 6’3/6’4 (This is a lie)
Lebron only faced taller and stronger defenders (a lie)

So far since the Jordan doc, Wade/Love and Quinn Cook have all said that MJ is the GOAT.

I don't understand this thread at all.
MJ is playing SG, and is smaller, faster than LBJ.
Why the hell would you want Tayshaun Prince/ Marion / Kawhi (who can't even guard Harden's speed or WB's) to guard him?

If I had to choose, I would pick the Marcus Smart's of the world. Guys who can stay on him and force him to make jumpers only.

Say you had Jordan guarded by Curry, on several possessions of the last minutes of game 7 of the NBA Finals. You think he'd brick them all? Cause I know of someone else that did.
Say you had Jordan, alone on an island with Draymond Green and under the basket was...Curry waiting, is there any chance that Jordan doesnt cross Green to another dimension or blow past him and finish over Curry? Any chance in a situation like that, where he throws the ball to someone outside to take the shot instead of him? Cause I know of someone else that did.

There's a little argument in your strawman

If you're dude was *that* **** great, you wouldn't need threads like these.

All these do is affirm what everyone knows and the BronStans now know but will rather die than admit: MJ is the GOAT.

The thing is LeBron is a fantastic all-time great player. He deserves much better fans.

He really, REALLY does.

Then again, calling himself the GOAT and personally controlling the narratives with his "insider" journalists around everything he does is not a good look for him.

That's not even counting his FO/tampering shenanigans.

Maybe they DO deserve each other.

It's funny you should say that about LeBron. The logical breakdown plays out in the exact same manner in my head; like a mirror image

It's like -- "What a shame" (Pause for 1.25 seconds) "Oh wait, that's right, never mind; they really do deserve each other".

LeBron James in a nutshell: great talent, beast, all-time great player. ZERO respect for the way he's gone about his business and conducted himself as professional and the manner in which he's shaped his career.

Thank you! This thread is full of insane people. Like pointing out that prime Chris Paul would be a good choice to guard MJ is being mocked. It makes no sense... it's like no one has ever watched basketball before.

There were plenty of good defensive players who had trouble with/were bad at defending MJ.

I mean, would you say someone is a bad defender because they have trouble guarding LeBron?

That seems really dumb

To that end..

Does that mean Kahwi has a lack of athleticism?

In the end, a great offensive player is going to get theirs regardless against anyone 1 on 1. To me the team defense and strategy is more important. Back then you get past a Dumars or Starks, and you had Oakleys, Laimbeers, Malones, etc to pound you. Those type of physical interior defenders are a lot rarer today.

Come on, that is Curry Kawhi had to guard. You stop to think for a 0.00001 second and thats a 3 from Steph. Jordan would be a lot easier to guard than Curry for Kawhi.

Um, who do you think has a better first step..... Jordan or Curry?

Given how much humans have evolved since 2003 it must be curry

Hornacek didn't guard MJ often. Utah put Russell on him. And he was a good defender.

Yes the perimeter defenders aren't that great on the list. Is that his fault? He gotta win against who he plays.

Also help D counts. MJ faced some pretty good Cs in that regard, and it's not like he didn't make a ton of points at the rim.

Yes Gary Payton and Dumars made him have the most trouble.

Yeah this is a lie.

Kawhi is one of the best defenders on both westbrook and harden. Check out his defense against Harden in the '17 series.
Westbrook struggles to score against him and tends to only take advantage of matchup problems.

Jordan would have tapped out against Iggy/Klay/Kawhi/Roberson/PG13

I'm going to bump this thread when 6'1" Patrick Beverley shuts down Bron later this year.

Good luck. We'll be here to quote you if they face each other. Hope you bump the thread if LBJ averages 30 PPG on great efficiency.

Jordan played in the hand check and the hard foul era which is now considered flagrant 1 or 2 depending on the ref.

When they played Charlotte they had Anthony Mason who was 6-7 250 and played power forward and some center defend him. Mason was really strong and an all nba defender and all nba that year.

Too much logic.

Apparently this is a ludicrous opinion to think that CP3 would defend Jordan better than Kawhi.
