No way this happens, LeBron's rep will take a hit big time. I am a die hard LeBron fan and he would lose me as a fan if he allowed that.

AD is a fantastic player, but same goes for Luka who's also a much better next to Giannis.

The pick-and-rolls between Luka & Giannis would be amazing to watch.

Furthermore, the Mavs will be a Championship contender for entire 2020s decade (bar injuries).

Which I can't say for Lakers given to LeBron's advanced age.

Look at it this way, does Giannis have a better shot at being THE main guy on the 21 year old Luka's Mavericks or the 36 year old close to retiring LeBron's Lakers? Giannis and AD with a third option LeBron are contenders. Once LeBron retires do you think no one would want to play in LOS ANGELES with Giannis and AD?

Giannis himself said he isn't interested playing in citys like NY or LA.

As of right now, Giannis is clearly better than Luka and it's not really debate.

Giannis is basically Shaq who needs his Penny/Kobe/Wade. Something Luka fits the bill.

Not only does Mavs have a better overall roster, but Luka and KP will be 21 and 27 respectively.

A guy like KP is completely irrelevant in this type of conversation. He’s not good enough to matter.

An All-Star caliber like KP be a fantastic addition for any team, especially if he plays next to Luka & Giannis.

I imagine he would suit perfectly as Mavs' version of Chris Bosh.

Players association would NEVER agree to a hard cap. Players would lose out on hundreds of millions of dollars in salary. Most owners probably wouldnt mind it. Even the big market ones. In fact, some small market teams might object because they would miss out of luxury tax money they receive every year.

I sure hope you supported KD's decision.

Most Laker fans didnt care about KD's decision at that time because they were deep in rebuild and more concerned about the lottery.

Allowed? Lebron openly tried to recruit Kawhi last year after recruiting AD. Why is that any different?

In a League where you have to win 4 games in a playoff game that is a problem.
If it was like NFL it might still be interesting

If LeBron would've joined Kawhi along with AD he's disqualified as the GOAT, same with Giannis. LeBron should joint Harden in NY.

Also I want to say, if people don't like this then they should have been more critical of KD and never said that he was the best player in the world or even close

Because when the only thing people value are rings when evaluating players, then this arms race will just keep going

By the time Giannis & AD would hypothetically be together, LeBron would be what, 38? He'll be way past his prime so it's not like he's peak LeBron by then. But many of you seem to give him credit by saying it as if there would be 3 superstars on the roster. Do I think it will happen? No. But everyone here is way overreacting. I think a Luka + Giannis signing would be way more detrimental to some people's perspective about superteams. They would dominate for the next 10 years, yet people seem to be angry only when it would involve LeBron. I might even think that a 40-year-old LeBron would make people mad if someone joined him

No it wouldn't. He'll be 36 by the time Giannis' signature dries. If joining Wade and Bosh in Miami hasn't bothered you why would this now?

The 2022 Bucks Unprotected First Round Pick that the Cavaliers own might skyrocket in value if that happens.

Emoni Bates anyone?

The stars that played before this era of superteams look so much better than these cowards nowadays. Winning championships as the sole superstar or even with just one other allstar is real and legit. Curry won as a sole superstar in 2015 and would have in 2016 if him and a couple of others weren't carrying injuries. Kawhi did same with Toronto. Duncan in 2014 and Nowitzki in 2011 likewise. They're the only real championships of the 2010s.

Lebron has no case for GOAT.

It won't happen. But it's a nice way to make some competitors nervous and force them into some silly decisions
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

If this happens I'm done with the NBA.

Giannis leaving Milwaukee would hurt....but if he joins Lebron and AD the NBA becomes unwatchable.

This. The haters that are getting their panties in a bunch at the possibility of this are the same ones that claim KD was the best player in the world after the Warriors won back to back. Hypocrites as usual.

Even if this happens, it wouldn't be on the same level as KD's. LeBron would be 37 yo and playing in his 19th season. He defied all expectations last season by still having a playoff gear to switch on, but two years is a long time for a player at this stage of their career. Also, unless all three take a decent paycut, the rest of the roster will be no where near as good as the Warriors. Steph being on that contract helped tremendously.

Not meant to be Lebron who takes the hit. Just like with Curry recruiting KD it's what they're supposed to do once their team has interest in a marquee FA. It's on the FA to say No, thanks. There's a reason the Warriors don't get crap for signing KD and it's because only a fool would say no attempting to sign an MVP

Feels like the whole FA process is waiting for this. Assets for a possible run on Giannis are all in place and folks are waiting.
