more of usage he already was a good player in yr 1.
would like to see him take 20 shots when jordan clarkson is taking all the shots he wants. miami bench sucks.

Highest scoring bench on the league and Oladipo isn't back yet. How does our bench suck?

Correct! Tyler looks like he's going to be a star coming off the bench. He's like our own Manu Ginobili. Dedmon looks like he's good enough to start, Markieff brings toughness and power, and Strus brings a lot of shooting and scoring potential.

When Oldapo gets back, even if he's in Houston form, our bench is DEEP! Let Dipo, Herro, Dedmon, and Morris is a fantastic team.

Herro's averaging 31.6 minutes per game. If he's only playing against scrubs, and each game is 48 minutes long, that means the starters of teams Tyler is playing against are only playing 16.4 minutes per game. Charles, as always, oversimplifies. Even if we were to assume every starter played 32 minutes a night, that would only leave 16 minutes a night (out of almost 32 minutes) where he was able to play against reserves.

Tyler is playing starters minutes, and honestly more than half of those minutes are against starters. Most teams stagger their lineups.

The only valid point Charles makes, and it is valid, is that Trae and Doncic have to carry their respective teams and Tyler really doesn't...

Personally, I think when Oladipo returns, if he's back to the way he was when he got hurt against the Lakers, I think Duncan gets sent to the bench and Herro gets pushed up to starting sg. Victor would be the playmaker/scorer off the bench.

Whats the latest on dipo? I've heard conflicting reports about when he is slated to return.

Nothing. Some heat board members have some inside info. They'll share if they're compelled to.

Anywho....

So 18 games into the season, or 22% of the season, and Herro is still putting up 22/6/4 on 47/40/87 shooting splits. He's been steady throughout and his elevated play is looking more like a trend than a mere hot streak. Fair to say Herro has taken a leap?

For reference, here's some 3rd year SG per 100 numbers:

Tyler Herro: 33/8/6 on 47/40/87
Devin Booker: 35/6/7 on 43/38/88
Bradley Beal: 23/6/5 on 43/41/78

As a Heat fan I found myself seriously questioning his ceiling last season but I'm enjoying being proven wrong

What's impressed me the most, predictably given my role in this thread, is his consistency. Their are days when he's the best player on the team and other days when he's a 20 point compliment, but he's always scoring and taking over. It's nice to see that his celebrity didn't get in the way of his career.

I don't care about him winning any awards, making an all star team, or anything like that. I care about what he's doing for our team, and what he's doing is nothing short of awesome. He gives us a decided advantage most nights. We have a big four in Miami. The kids is really balling...

And crickets….

Funny that when herro is balling no one talks about him

But when he struggles, the haters come out in full force

Honestly, he’s turning out to be even better that I thought..:at this rate don’t see why he won’t be an all star for years to come, his scoring and efficiency is quite elite and hes 21 and he has the clutch gene too

Eh, it was against the Pistons. The Wizards game was more impressive.

Anyway, Herro's definitely having a bounce back season and looks really good.

Hard to speculate, how is vic going to shoot the ball when hes back? is he going to be a jumpshooter off the dribble, a slasher, a playmaker, a 3 nd D guy? i can see him being anyone of these things depending on his health and what hes been working on. Like idk if you remember the game he got hurt in, but he was playing really well for miami doing a bit of everything. If he can do that for them, then hes kinda similar to herro, so herro should probably move into the starting likeup and have him playmake for duncan off the bench and play pnr/pop with bam and dedmond. if hes just going to be a 3 and d guy, leave the starting lineup as is so herro can still be the playmaker for victor a lot. idk this guys been a bum, a star, a 3 and d, and a combo guard in the last 4 years, he and spo probably have 0 clue as to how to use him and hes coming back soon i think

He had a 30 pt game against a very bad, 4-13 record Detroit Pistons team. And the Heat coaching staff is intentionally featuring him and running plays for him.

But a handful of games ago, against a good team, he put up 6 points on 3-11 shooting against the Celtics. Or his Nuggets game 3-12 shooting. Or about a week ago, having to take 19 shots to put up 19 points against an Pelican team.

It seems the Heat are letting this kid take about 20 shots a game. And he's had a streak of hot shooting, but it still November, and Herro has shown he will stink it up if his shot isn't falling. We'll see how long it lasts.

Do Heat fans seriously believe Oladipo is coming back? When is the last time he played even half of a season?

Tyler Herro is 2nd in the NBA in total 4th quarter points this season on 52/50/83 splits. Clutch gene already at 21 years old.

Could the Heat still have interest in trading for Tim Hardaway Jr? They were seemingly interested in THJ during the off-season... and it'd be cool to see him lineup for the Heat with his dad's history there. I'm not sure how to make a trade work though.

THJ + Brunson for Herro and Robinson?
