Nobody that understands the game of basketball could ever have a sober take and conclude that Lebron James is a greater player than MJ.

Well no.

But it solidifies him as the #2 and distances himself from everyone else, imo. Remove MJ from history, and LeBron is to the rest of league history what MJ is.

He's squarely between #1 and #3. He's about as locked in at #2 as MJ is #1 imo.

But I don't think anyone reasonable can defend LeBron as the GOAT. The mere fact that it's a Convo, rather than a consensus eliminates him from that.

Agreed that MJ is #1. I think Wilt Chamberlain and Lebron have about the same claim for #2 though. Scoring the most points in total is a tremendous record for Lebron. Similarly, how many more records does Wilt still own even though so many years and stars have passed through the NBA? Can we just toss all those records to the side? Neither were especially skillful or aesthetically pleasing (to me at least)... but both were physical beasts and among the most athletic players ever, so they have that in common too.

Lebron is much more skillful than Chamberlain. He can score everywhere, has great handles, IQ, and passing skills.

In LeBron's sport, you're expected to play both sides of the ball, not just one...

Brady plays the most important position in football and he did it better for longer than anyone else in NFL history. No one in team sports is as good as he was.

Anyone trying to compare Lebron’s resume to Brady is a joke or don’t know anything about football

Or maybe you're just a LeBron hater?

People don't even know who Tom Brady is in most countries. LeBron is a household name.
