race-baiting is all the rage. It's so hip and in! Why is it so hard for people to grasp that there's more to the game than scoring? People are STILL triggered by Nash winning?

What Perkins and SAS do is to call the race card to create controversy and hence engagament and clicks.
That's what most sport media personalities do, they are not there rally to give you any insight, just entertain you (somehow).
I don't care about stat padding or hockey assists, they just expose some guys as not serious analysts.
But I insist that it's awfully irresponsible and counterproductive to bring the race in for no reason. Those guys are selling out a just cause for some ratings, and it will only create a pushback from some of the people that should be made aware of the issue and convinced.

Slandering and lying about Serbs/Serbia has been a favourite hobby of the people who run America/American media for over 20 years now, Perk just doing what his masters tell him.

i hope perk doesn't actually believe this nonsense and it's just some controversial thing he's saying because that's what sports television is these days (especially nba-related).

Other than a few podcasts like Lowe Post: Just ignore ESPN. Just ignore them.

Edit:
Last year it was because "people hate Philly", this year it's because Jokic is white.

Imagine if Jokic somehow manages to be even better or his performance stays the same next season and he'll be a strong MVP candidate again. What "arguments" will be brought up then? A secret group of powerful Serbs pulling the strings in the background?

I guess Perkins wasn't relevant enough before this? Gotta generate that buzz somehow.

Jokic could score 30pts/gm and it wouldn't satisfy the skeptics. Joker is creating looks for his teammates and directly relates to winning simultaneously posting the 2nd best record in the NBA.

I regularly spar with commenters on the play of Jokic as some of the best I have seen since I started watching basketball in the mid seventies. Joker is deserving of every accolade and is already in my top 10 centers I have seen play ahead of Ewing, Howard, Gasol, Yao, Embiid, Sabonis, etc.

We are witnessing greatness.

Kendrick Perkins never padded his stats though, so he comes from a position of integrity.

Draymond isn’t exempt from this. He knew what he was implying when he first said “Euros”. Hint: it was about Giannis.

Perkins is irrelevant. Draymond is currently still in the league.

I couldn’t imagine a current player saying something like this and not getting flamed for these comments.

Jokic should be winning his second and he clearly deserves it this year.

2 years ago when Embiid played only 51 games. Tell me how he “deserved it” over jokic? Jokic played 20 more games than Embiid. Had comparative stats.

28.5 pts 10.6 rebs 2.8 asts

26.4 pts 10.8 rebs 8.3 asts

49 wins vs 47 wins while embiid missed more than 20 more games than Jokic. Tell me how Embiid deserved it over jokic? I like how there is some revisionist history going on to discredit Jokic’s mvps. This crap should stop.

Reread what you highlighted. I’m saying Giannis deserved it, but the voters seem to always find a way to deny players a third MVP andthey have always done that by giving it to the best player on a #1 seed.
The only player in the last 40 years to win MVP with a lower win % than Jokic is Westbrook and if h wins this year he will at his current win % he will have won with the 2nd 3rd and 9th worst win% in the last 40years

I'm not sure that winning percentage comes into it for this year. The Nuggets currently have the best record in the West, and are tied for the second best record in the league. So no matter who wins it this year, they would have one of the worst win % according to that argument.

The point is no he shouldn’t and jokic shouldn’t win on team record alone. That is just one point on top of everything else jokic has going for him. 2 years ago jokic had the better season than both of the other guys. And same this year imho

Just give Jokic the 3rd straight mvp. It’s a regular season award. He deserves it THIS SEASON.

But I can tell you this. If he doesn’t go to at least nba finals.

He will never win another mvp again. Even if he has another fantastic or even greater season. Till he wins or advances to nba finals.

Can all Jokic fans agree on that matter? That he won’t win another mvp even with same stats and record next season if he doesn’t advance to nba finals

Or else lebron and Jordan would win 5-6 straight mvp simply being the best player.

And Jokic being the clear cut best player is debatable.

Only during lebron and Jordan years were they clear cut best players over everyone else.

We are currently in the post Jordan(1998) -pre lebron 2007 dominance era.

The separation between Jokic Giannis Luka or even embiid if very thin (like shaq/Kobe/Duncan 1998-2007)

And media isn’t anti white bias. They gave 2 nba mvp to Steve Nash. Very questionable mvp awards for Nash. Than gave it to dirk

He deserved the last two seasons, especially one from the last season. The most deserved winner probably of all time. This season for me personally, he doesn't deserve it.

What do these three MVPs have in common?

Kareem Abdul‑Jabbar
Kobe Bryant
Karl Malone

That's right. First names that start with K.

I’m just saying I think Jokic winning three in a row when players like Jordan and Lebron were denied that to give what would hav been their third mvps to less deserving players who were on great teams just rubs people the wrong way( including me) as great as he is he is a historical outlier for his lack of team success. As of right now he is also the only MVP other than Rose to never play in the a finals game. But he’ll be put in the same sentence with Bird, Russell, and Chamberlain, he hasn’t earned that.

Who cares how many MVP titles Jordan and Lebron have won. We are living in the present not the past.

Race baiting has been the rage since the world began. Some of you are just upset that now it isn’t just white people doing it.
