How do you measure “seems to care”?

Visual passion. His words. Taking responsibility. Do you believe he doesn't?

Ham often times would just be like, "it's whatever."

The passion thing is subjective. Phil Jackson let his players play out of the slump especially if Kobe and Shaq/Gasol are on the floor, is it fair to expect something similar with James and Davis? Also, with young teams, such as the Pistons, it may be a good idea to have timeout to stop momentums as well as holding them accountable. However, the Lakers are led by veterans (besides Knecht, I can't think of a player under the age of 25 in the rotation), so for them the main reason for timeout is substitutions or strategies to counter certain matchups. I have yet to hear Redick say something like, LeBron needs to rotate on defense so that MPJ or Braun doesn't go off us every time we played.

The most cerebral QB's ever, Manning/Brady/Mahomes, often work with their coaches when it comes to offensive scheme instead of trying of fire & switch them every couple years.

Taking responsibility is hilarious.

You can't fire a coach and bring back the same roster expecting different results. only fans like you will blame a coach(Ham) over the GM and players.

Guess you haven't read all my posts. I've stated Pelinka is the 1 to blame for the hole they're in. Ham was let go because he lost the locker room. There was tons of reports about this.

Most Laker fans will tell you they are OK with JJ because he has taken blame. Did none of you ever watch Ham post game? He didn't care.

Only way to fix the Lakers is to trade as much as they can for two way players, or let this team fizzle out and get more picks to rebuild. That's probably why JJ was chosen in the first place.

Very interesting stats on the lakers best 3 man lineups.

The top 8 3 man lineups all include DLo (all positive plus/minus). No 3 man lineup with Austin Reaves has a positive plus/minus.

Hope we go back to following the data!

Interesting to see Christie in the top lineup.

lol. He gets outcoached by players on the opposing team, mid game. The coaches don’t have to do much. The combination of JJ Reddick and Lebron’s ‘basketball IQ’ won’t net them wins alone.

They can’t go back now though - it’s far too late. This guy was on TV a couple years ago saying that the 2022 season was a year to honor Lebron’s greatness and don’t focus on winning.

They’re being coached by a guy who doesn’t believe that winning is the priority over ‘Lebron's greatness’.

Let that sink in

JJ is coaching how any Lebron fan would, honestly. JJ, Bron, nor any of their fans give af about the Lakers winning. lol. JJ is one of the dozen personalities that literally said it on TV a couple of years ago. This same thing would’ve happened with Richard Jefferson or whatever.

He's coaching well, not coach of the year but Lakers are working a lot of good sets. Players just missing shots, think they are still getting legs under them since the offensive sets require more movement.

This will pay off in back half of season.

LeBron doesn’t seem thrilled with the sets Redick is running.

I was watching today and saw horrible ball movement. No real set action other than putting AD in the pick and roll and having some weak side cutters.

It was a back to back so won’t put too much emphasis on it but I didn’t see anything today to support your statement.

Is there another podcaster the Lakers can try? This one seems like he has never coached before.

Maybe they can get Draymond, I'm sure he'd be happy to drink some wine with LeBron.

Yeah today looked like they were trying to save legs for sure. Very little movement as you said.

I saw JJ's appointment as a sign that the Lakers F/O and ownership are finally preparing for life post Lebron and maybe AD.

He wasn't appointed because he was Lebron's friend, if the Lakers were serious about trying for another chip, they would have hired Bud

The undeniable reality is that things (on court) will get worse for the Lakers over the next few years before they get better, and that is okay

The Lakers desperately lack 3&D wings. In fact they haven’t been able to find one since they traded for Westbrook. Only 3 OR D guys.
G - James | Rondo
G - Bradley | Caruso
F - Green | Caldwell-Pope
F - Davis | Kuzma | Morris
C - McGee | Howard

He was never going to win COY. Dude took over a play-in team that did nothing to improve that and possibly are a worse team. Wouldn't be surprised if they missed the playoffs.

Now Coach Bud is a way better COY candidate but at this point it will probably be Udoku.

It's SUPER obvious that DLO has been a positive for the Lakers ever since he's joined. He's won a bunch of games single-handedly and creative enough off the dribble to score in bunches. Remember him cooking Memphis in multiple games on solo runs.

However, D'Lo is on Bron's and Reddicks **** forever though after he made it very clear that he wasn't playing PG when the media asked him. Basically validated how he was being relegated to a 'shooter role' to accommodate Lebron's game. Media COMPLETELY tuned on him for this. Now, JJ has DLO on a short leash even though he's better than Lebron as of late.

Bron fans are the most vicious towards DLO after he has his best games. Lol. Dude needs to leave ASAP
