All I'm going say on the matter is it will be interesting to see what stats westbrook puts up in the play-offs if the thunder are serious about advancing as far as they can. I am going to bet the rebounds dip big time as the big men actually start taking the rebounds for themselves and russ is told to actually guard his man on the perimeter.

The Thunder are on pace to challenge the Rockets in the first round, so don't expect some playoff level defense from us.

Him and Lebron also play on stacked starting line ups, so it makes sense they would have good +/-s.

I'm sure Westbrook's +/- would be better too if he shared minutes with other all stars.

Meh, LeBron's lineup isn't stacked. Kyrie and Love have the reputation of being great players, but why are they completely useless when LeBron goes to the bench? If they can only play well with LeBron on the court, then that means they're not really all that great.

Westbrook's +/- is actually very good btw.

And there's been enough minutes played without those other stars at this point in the season to basically say, nah, they're actually worth that much to their teams. I mean, maybe there's still some question marks about Curry's true impact, because he does play so much with Green, but in general, I'm pretty comfortable saying that Curry is having massive impact for the Warriors, in addition to Green's massive impact. They're synergistic with each other.

I'm not entirely sure Westbrook is my MVP, but all I will say is that I really, really, really hope that the "he's not on a top 3 team" argument is the reason why he doesn't get it.

If he doesnt win it, that will be part of it. If he can get the thunder to 4th spot than may be enough to end that agrument. I dont see jazz or clippers moving down.

Steph's been top two +/- for 4 years running.

this is crazy.. and the first time im seeing this.... but the entire OKC team is moving out of the way to let westbrook get the rebound... what a joke. Some of the footage in that video is unbelievable... 3-4 okc players move directly out of the way, and westbrook gets it. Westbrook even leaves his man to go chase it

Yet when I made a thread about making uncontested rebounds (like that one) a team rebound...I was chastised.

There is NO WAY in hell that those couple rebounds a game that fall into lap should be the deciding factor in the MVP race...

And after seeing some of the assists he got today, namely his 2nd, I'd love to see a video of all his assists for the season. Some very generous "assists" being given there..

Yet OKC is winning like crazy when Westbrook gets triple doubles and doing much worse when he doesn't. So Westbrooks' rebounds and assists are contributing toward wins, which is what it's all about.

His assists, sure. But the rebounds that his teammates let him grab instead of grabbing and handing over (.5 seconds...)

It's not 0.5, it's way easier to get a ball and start running while other players already started to run too than to wait to get a ball and then go with one player trailing. Especially if you already suck on the offense like they do, they need every chance for a fastbreak they can get

Also at least 50% of the video is laughable

After tonight (loss to Spurs), and assuming that Westbrook plays in all of the remaining 7 OKC games, this is what he needs to average over those 7 games in order to finish the year with a 30-point triple-double average:

11/4/6

Westbrook also needs 3 triple doubles in his remaining 7 games in order to break the record set by Oscar Robertson of 41 triple doubles in a single season. Westbrook is currently at 39 such games for this season.
Jokic 31/21/22
Luka & Oscar = 5 x 27/8/8
The Brodie = All-out energy

I am sure you can make the similar video about Lebron and Harden, how they grabbed some random rebounds.

4 for 18. 6 turnovers. Completely outplayed again by the best player on the best team. Good thing for Harden that Curry is ineligible for MVP this year.
Unfortunately for Harden he is still on pace for the worst case scenario in which Westbrook gets within 5 games and manages to barely win the MVP.

I get the sense the media leaning towards westb now ...especially when he breaks OR's record.... That will be huge headline on ESPN
