The Clippers absolutely cannot catch a break. Imagine if Kyrie had made this demand a month ago? They could have made this trade themselves!

Can Houston even trade Chris Paul? I was under the impression that there was a minimum time period requirement between trades.

He reportedly did make it a while ago hence why LeBron tweeted "When the family feuds nobody wins" and no Cavs player has 'liked' any of Kyries social media posts since July 10th. Probably when they all found out about it.

I think the Cavs were trying to figure out what to do internally to see if they can mend the fence before going public with it.

I think the rockets are relying on CP3 to pick up the slack defensivelay, so even though Irving is a younger player who is probably comparable to CP3 in scoring ability, I think Rockets say no.

Yeah - I thought that too - what exactly are the rules on how long after you sign/trade someone that can you trade them again?

If i'm not mistaken if the Rockets signed CP as a FA they wouldn't be able to trade him until either december or January, depending on how much of the cap he took up.

But since he was traded to houston, IDK. It may be the same, or maybe a month after?

Regardless Houston would never do this. Not only is CP the better player, they traded for CP to sign him outright next summer. How bad would it look for Houston to do something like this.

Let's just be real, he doesn't want to be in Cleveland Ohio ... with Lebron. Change of scenery can be good for the soul.

Not his decision. He goes where Cleveland send him.

Spinning your point a little, why would HOU bring him in when they know he wouldn't be happy with the role.

This would be the fastest way for LeBron to waive his no trade clause. A new Big 3 of LeBron, Love, Fox.

The report is from Sam Amico, which means, no, not reliable.

I thought it was the other way around. Cavs asked for Fox and Kings said no. That's what I read somewhere.

Only reason LeBron had to join 2 other all stars is because there were three already playing together that kept knocking him out...

Rockets wouldnt do it for PR and convenience reason, but of course you would ideally. He's younger and can you imagine if Steph Curry HAS to guard either Kyrie or Hrden?

As it stands he has to guard CP3 but Paul's boring ass wont even take advantage

phraoh wrote: Cavs have to look at getting some young assets back.

why?

everyone is pretty much in agreement once LeBron goes the Cavs chances of winning a ring are up unless they pull a fluke and draft another LeBron or a bunch of players who turn out to be stars. The Cavs are contenders right now because LeBron was born in Ohio and was drafted by Cleveland, that random act of chance is why they won a ring and why they're contenders next season. It's not down to a good front office, or coaching system or an ambitious owner. They're not like the Lakers or the Celtics where they'll be able to muscle themselves into getting good free agents without the added bonus of playing with LeBron.

from the last say three drafts, who would actually have made a difference in the play-offs? KAT and that's it (maybe Jokic too actually). what's the point in getting say Tatum or Jaylen Brown to play for the Cavs next season, are they going to bridge the gap between them and the warriors?

This isn't having a go at Cleveland, they could well rebuild and end with a player like Giannis in a few years, or a clutch of them like the timberwolves, but that needs to be approached in the correct time. I just don't see the point in trying to get several young guns if they're trying to win now. it would be nice for everyone to be in Boston's situation but the building blocks for that were put in place a long time ago.

you're right that they probably won't do IT for Kyrie, but it is actually one of the few moves they could make that might have an outside chance of making them better for the 2018 finals. gambling on being better in 2020 is a very risky strategy.

Only works in a three way deal with Fox going elsewhere. Sensible moves would be for Bledsoe, Conley, or Kemba.

Other pieces obviously would have to come into play.
