That is not the rule. The ref said it was out of his hand before the red light. You cannot be touching the ball at any time after the buzzer. Hand placement is 100% the reasoning on the call

Hard to believe that the ball could conceivably be all the way through the ring with a hand making contact, and not ruled a basket until it leaves hand.

I’ve only just joined the thread and seen no game or video so far, but a shot attempt requires a ball to be released, right? A player in contact with the ball hasn’t attempted a shot, otherwise you’d call pump fakes shot attempts. I would think that if a player is still in contact with the ball when time expires, whether it be on a jumper or a dunk, they have not began their shot.

Refs see it differently, but even if they are not sure about what exactly happened at 0:00, when even the video was uncertain, the on-court call stays! So it would be scandalous if they overturned the call of this importance without clear video evidence.

It was already a made basket though. It's not the same as a jumper. The basket already counted the moment it went past the rim. The fingertip stuff is irrelevant at that point.

Was that a pass or a shot? Watching live I thought it was maybe a travel on Jokic but a good made dunk by Gordon. I still don't know for sure if either of my thoughts were right after watching replays haha, but if I had to make the call I would have awarded the basket. Very memorable ending wow.

I assume JVG made the call to go zone. That almost saved the game. That 30-9 run was no joke. Things only turned once the Clips slowed down. The drive and kick was killing Denver, they couldn't rotate on anything.

Left hand is off completely, can't tell if right hand is still on, if it is it's barely. I would just give tie to the runner in that case but almost impossible to call unless there was like an under rim cam

And I think the basket was as clear as it could be. Refs have the best technology to call it. Don't they have camera on top of the bord to the basket to give the best view in this case. We didn' see it but Zack Zorba did

Nah only way Jokic haters will shut up is if he gets 4-5 rings. The NBA has a weird ring counting culture. And when you're a GOAT level player everything revolves around em.
