Making high risk passes. Biting on cheap fouls. Yet he was still +20 and absolutely dominated the game. Best player on the floor.
How good will this guy be once he figures out what he's doing out there?
I said that on our Sixers board before. It's not a criticism, it's praise. The fact that he still has soooo much to improve on, and he really does. Watching him every single game, he can work on handling double teams better, his, he can tighten up his ball handling, his shot selection can be better, his post moves can be better, passing out of double teams can be better. He's basically only scratched a small portion of his potential and he's already this dominant. The sky is truly the limit.
You may not have seen it last night, because he didn't shoot a lot of them, but his 15 footer is money. Absolute money. And he doesn't shoot it a lot. He'll do pump fakes and jab steps and try to drive and draw contact and either get an easy bucket down low or go to the line. If he just settled for that 15 foot jumper defenders give him all game long, he might average 25 ppg. But he "works on things" during games. He tries to diversify his skill set. It's part of his development I guess.
And he tends to improve very very quickly. Embiid from game 1 to last night is night and day. He still needs to improve on his passing, but in his first couple weeks of the season his passing was poor. Now his passing is actually quite good. Still a lot to work on, but to go from poor to good in just a couple short months as a guy who isn't supposed to be a passer is incomprehensible.
