Myles Turner was also huge/vital for Indy in that final quarter with his important rebounding and hitting that clutch 3 .

Siakam blocks SGA, Siakam Score, Haliburton Game-Winner in the last minute. Just a normal day at the office for the Team of Destiny.

That's coaching though. Carlisle and the staff found something with Nembhard getting downhill because he was willing to match the physicality of Dort, Caruso and Wallace. Nembhard's toughness on both ends really changed the game. That and Toppin splashing 3's.

On the phone with my bro today I said, "The Pacers have had one miracle win per round this season; if they get hot once... and OKC goes cold once... Dangit, that still only gets you to three wins."

If IND wins, it would be one of the greatest upsets of all time. They don't have a Prime Lebron to defy destiny. They don't have experience outside of Siakam. They don't have size. They don't have the defensive personnel to shut down elite teams.

It would be shocking if IND even extends this series to 6

They do have a W though

Which again is shocking. If they win this series, this would be without a doubt one of the biggest upsets in NBA history

It’s an upset b/c ppl were underestimating how good they are.

They don’t run anything for Chet. They barely have an offense. It’s just entirely reliant on SGA iso and hacking guys into turnovers and scoring off it

Chet is just running, setting screens, and defending. They run more through iHart than they do Chet.

Chet was great in the WCF because they actual ran their usual stuff.

OKC went full hero mode which worked in the first half but not the second when the game opened up to Pacers outright advantage.

I look to the guy at the helm making the decisions. It's obvious coaching still matters alot.

Chuck Everett wrote:Daigs did it again. Not once tonight did he give Holmgren and Hartenstein any minutes together and they got bodied on the boards. Is he going to change the starting lineup again now? Pacers playing with house money now if they can protect HCA.

There is an explanation for the rebounding differential, though. Both teams hit 39 shots but Indiana took 18 less shots than OKC did (82 for Indiana, 98 for OKC). That means that we got 18 more opportunities to grab defensive boards than OKC did. And we outrebounded them by 17 boards. That's the difference right there, imo.

Robert Johnson of last second shots this year.

Lots of clutch plays for Indy;

Nembhard 3
Turner 3 (fake, step back and bank?)
Offensive rebound and putback by Siakam
Great last minute defense
Of course the Hali middy

What else did i miss?

Was thinking something similar, I still remember how shocked people were that the Lakers lost that game.

Ya, 2001 NBA Finals. Philly vs LAL.

Iverson was a monster. Got the Game 1 upset.

If the Pacers loose I hate to say it but it’s on you bro

We won and we spared the goat yeahhhhhh

Do the goat for game 2. Hopefully you guys are ready for the pressure of OKC next game

People really do not want to give guys credit. Nemhart is the main reason you guys got back in it. He hurt OKC plan to pressure the ball. He was able to break it and give you guys some rhythm.

Read on Twitter

This is a foul but that push on Siakam 20 seconds untill the end is "marginal contact"
This is why whole world outside of OKC is rooting for the Pacers. Its amazing what they are getting off with, while at the same time getting bs calls on the other side... Sadly for everyone OKC is just too good and deep and they will storm back in the series.

Even if haliburton is the highlight of the win, I gotta give props to Nembhard. He was the most consistent for the Pacers today and was very key on defense.
