Warriors lost the finals when everyone thought they'd. beat Cleveland.

Nothing is a shoe in, they still have to play the games.

This is a league league, not a team league.

Well, the Warriors were better than Miami ever was BEFORE they added Durant, so this is quite a bit worse than that in terms of the competitive balance of the league.

At the same time, the heat added 2 superstars....warriors are definitely more rigged of a team post-FA, but I don't think quoting the strength of the team before FA is appropriate given both LBJ (best player in the league by far at the time) and Chris Bosh were added

Lol at people already trying to say the Cavs don't have a shot. Were the best team in the NBA until next year...there's not a single player on the Warriors that can guard Kyrie or LeBron...Iggy can't despite the narrative...LeBron killed the Warriors. The excuse was that Bogut was hurt......and now he's gone. If they play in the finals next year, both teams will be scoring over 120 regularly

I would love to see Westbrook to Orlando happen, they're a point guard away from being top 5 in the east.

Russell / Payton
Fournier
Hezonja / Green
Ibaka / Gordon
Vucevic / Biyombo

That's a heck of a lineup.

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar ... too bad I don't think it will happen :banghead:

WB and Harden should find their way to ORL, while keeping Jeff Green and Ibaka in ORL.

I wonder if KD comes over if Warriors beat Cavs in 5?

I still can't believe Warriors managed to lose that series

He's saying GSW last year was better than any iteration of the Heat after they got LBJ/Bosh. And now theyre replacing Barnes/Bogut with Durant/Zaza

I'm gonna love seeing a super team beat Cleveland and give LeBron a taste of his own medicine.

Durant is going to GSW for all the right reasons. They play fun, team ball, they're skilled, and they win. He's already had the benefit of playing next to another superstar, so it's not like LeBron who wanted a taste of playing with a legit sidekick (rightfully so).

The writing has been on the wall for OKC for a while, ever since they crapped the bed with Harden. Imagine, they could have had him as a backup plan right now.

Everyone is being an idiot. This is the EXACT same thing Lebron did in 2010.

Funny how if the Warriors had traded or drafted Durant this would be ok with everyone. Who cares if they sign him as a FA.

Durant can now help the Warriors be the greatest team of all time. Compete for 4-5 titles. If the Warriors end up doing something ridiculous like winning 5 straight chips wouldn't it be worth it?

Of course it would.

How many of you would kill yourselves, if Wade announced tomorrow, that he's signing with GS for the min?

Also if Im 27 years old, I don't want to play in Oklahoma. Sorry if it makes me a bad person.

I'd rather be in San Francisco.

They don't. Neither do the Spurs. Literally no one has a shot until next offseason where there are a lot of moving pieces.

Let me preface this that as a Laker fan, I don't have a dog in this fight on the issue of super teams not being good for the league. That's hogwash. For the league and NBA fans it is great. Aside from following my own team, I love tuning in to watch the super teams win or lose. The tv ratings sky rocket when they are on so hard to argue it's bad for the league. For my Lakers, it's bad now but as a former benefactor of premier player destination I can't complain.

The rivalry is developing before our eyes. GS vs Cle each winning titles last 2 years. If GS lands a good passing big to replace Bogut, the Warriors will win the chip next year. Then Cle will re-tool and find a way to counter with their own super team.

And we will all watch when they match up in the finals.

I don't even think the Cavs were the best team in the NBA this year.

Yes they managed to come back in that Finals series. But they were against the ropes, and it took an ungodly level of player from Lebron as well as some terrible injury luck/suspensions on the Warriors.

Next year I don't see how they beat the Warriors. Klay Thompson as your third option. My God. That's scary.

Who cares what team it is?

Lebron teamed up with two OTHER top 10 players because he couldn't win the Finals on multiple 60+ win Cavs teams. Then he did it AGAIN by leaving the Heat the minute Wade/Bosh start declining.

And you and every other Cavs fan HATED him and booed the **** out of him every time he came to town.

So save the BS. Youre not fooling anyone.

I have no problem with any of it. Except joining the team he just couldn't get past. Starting something new is different

Yeah but people need drama in their lives.

At the time the Heat were formed they were expected to be a dominant dynasty and that was the point of putting that team together. But because they failed people act like that was never the intention. And that was multiple stars colluding, not just one star signing where cap space was created. You just deg people on the intent of their actions, not the outcomes.

The Heat were good for NBA viewing figures because they failed to win it every year. Assuming that GS will automatically win it every year just like we did with the Heat is also a mistake. The games still have to be played, and just like the Heat, GS may struggle for front court depth.

As to whether they can compete for 4 or 5, I don't know if the salary cap will let them do even that much. I think everyone including Durant needs to get paid in the next two years.

Durant wants to join the best team he can. Hes supposed to not do this just because the team beat him?

Who cares? Its a better situation for him as a player.
