Is it just me or does it seem like Houston is having Westbrook leak out and then trying to quickly find him with the ball to attack in transition instead of focusing on grabbing boards?

He does that. Under pressure or in the playoffs? Good frigging luck.

He shot fewest of his career last season. To see two in one game is rare. Guess we'll see how this translates. We have plenty of 3 shooters, but the willingness now from DeMar is a welcome sight.

We didn't see him do that at all last year  everyone craps on Derozans 3pt shooting but few years before he came to SA he was at least average. He shot like 15% last year. I don't think I've seen him hit two straight at all until today. If could he even be average it would be HUGE for us. Him shooting 15% was a huge problem for us last season

I am, unfortunately, a DeRozan expert. Not by choice. He is not good. You'll learn that this year if you didn't learn that last year...

Or you could just be trash at analyzing basketball. That's okay though, you're still entitled to your opinion.

Lolwat? No need to be condescending Mr. "expert." I never even said he was good  all I said was if he can shoot an average percentage from deep like he did in Toronto it will be huge for the spurs. I never actually said he was good at any point in that post... :-?

This is obviously the optimal fastbreak strategy. Anyone who said it was better for Russ to grab the board was basically saying he's faster than the ball.

It will be fools gold for the Spurs. The season he shot "well" for the Raptor's from the 3, he went into the playoffs and shot abysmally, especially from the 3. I feel bad for you guys, especially the DeRozan optimists. He is a glorified bench player, at best... And even then, he probably wouldn't help you win meaningful games.

Apologies, my response was a little harsh. I just know what DeRozan is capable of..

Choking. That's about it.

No worries mate. I know what you mean, because I've had a full year to watch him which was plenty for me. Difference is he's not the focal point of our offense or propped up to be our best player. But, i don't have faith in him shooting from deep in the playoffs either. But i have no delusions about where my team is theoretically compared to the rest of the West - I'm not thinking about him choking him on the playoffs, right now I'm just hoping he can shoot an average % instead of the godawful 15% he shot last year so the Spurs have a chance of winning 50 games and keeping our playoff streak alive. I'm not counting on him to carry us anywhere in the postseason
