I think he's leaving. If he was inclined to stay, he would have called them and told them there was no need for a second meeting.

Unless he wasn't sure and just wanted to be convinced a bit more with a real pitch?

Again I think people are just gleaning what they want to from each tidbit. Boston fans think he's OBVIOUSLY coming to Boston, GS fans think he's OBVIOUSLY coming there...

This is so true. Go to either board. The only ones unsure are the OKC fans.

This must be what death row feels like.

KD, please don't do this to us. Anywhere but Golden State. I beg of you.

IMO Durant going to Boston would be dumb. He would make more money in OKC and OKC's roster is just as good if not better. Playing in the East wouldn't be an advantage because his goal is to win it all and the Cavs will be a force for a while and he'll still need to beat the West champs.

Cus they are the ones with the most to lose. If Warriors fans go all in on KD hype, if it doesn't happen they still have a championship team. If Celtics fans go all in and it doesn't happen, they still have a good young team ready to make a jump. If OKC fans go all in on "he's coming back" and he leaves, it's devastation. So might as well be cautious and prepared for the worst.

It's basketball and entertainment. Not life or death. But alright, you can judge Durant's character for joining whatever team he feels like he'll enjoy the most for whatever reason.

Where exactly am I judging his character based on this move? I can judge your reading comprehension as poor, but I didn't judge kd's character. All I did was call him a thin skinned wannabe, and I felt that before this ever happened. He has spent a career blasting the press that has largely given him a pass, more so than any player at his level of excellence. He's entitled to make whatever move he wants. I'm entitled to think it's weak if he makes it. I didn't call him a bad person. I don't think he's a bad guy

KD legit makes Boston a title contender. GSW is one without him. Don't do what LeBron did and play with the super friends. Be an Alpha.

I don't want to jinx it, but honestly, what does KD gain by going to Boston? OKC is better now and it's the team he's played with his whole career.

The only way he'd want to leave OKC is to go to a team that is certain to be better, not to a team still waiting for an identity and who is known more for being scrappy than talented.

Do the Celtics have to get rid of anyone other than Amir Johnson to clear space for Durant if he does pick them?

I feel like it's between GS and Thunder, with Boston being a dark horse.

At first I thought he would easily just do the 1+1 and stay in OKC, but that might mean he misses the window to join GSW in creating one of the greatest teams ever (on paper). I bet he's being pitched hard that if he stays another year he might find himself stuck in OKC with other teams moving onto building in other directions. Like this year is the year to move if it's going to happen.

Because of that I think there's a really high chance he decides to come to GS. What a nailbiter.

I'm just messing with you, dude. Don't take it so seriously. lol. Even if KD shocked people and chose to go to Boston, Cleveland is still the team to beat in the east.

I'm rooting for KD in Boston.

Celtics are a terrific franchise with an amazing young coach. Brings parity between the conferences and I'd look forward to seeing BOS/CLE match ups.

I think 20+ other teams are rooting for Boston as well here. No one outside of Oakland/SF wants KD in GSW

Safely, I think you can put this # exactly at 29. And I think, this would be consensus if he only decided to leave.

28 other teams and their fanbases would be just as cool with him staying in OKC as well. Craziness but fun to watch from the outside even though, I had as much of a shot in 2014 as it was made out to be. KD's situation is basically a pick between great (OKC), great (GSW), great (BOS) situation no matter what. The only lose/lose will be if he goes to Warriors, he becomes villain somewhat for a year but maybe not as vitriolic as LBJ in 2010 unless Draymond pulls his own not 5, 6, 7 (which I could see him doin/sayin)...We shall see.

I think they have plenty of cap space, but I could be wrong.

Renounce Amir, JJ, Sullinger, and Zeller pretty much.

Actually not too sure about Sully and Zeller. Def the former two though

They have to waive Amir and Jerebko's unguranteed deals and renounce the QO's on Zeller and Sullinger.

So, with all the meeting included a team should be notified soon that they are out of the running.

He would get it worse than James. With James he only spurned one other team and joined two of his friends. KD would be joining a 73 win team that already won. Plus spurring Boston and the team that brought him into the league in the process. Boston fans don't forget...

I really find it funny when people say this. Would you be saying this if it was Boston who had just won a title 2 years ago and KD was considering joining you? If it was Boston who won 73 games last year? If it was Boston who went to back-to-back finals?

People need to stop judging someones character because they want to do what they're rightfully entitled to do, especially when they wouldn't do so if it was THEIR team he was potentially joining.

Either way, why call them when they are already there for the scheduled meeting?

Probably not. However, would I fault every NBA for judging him? Hell no. It's not good for the game.
