Mvp is not a best player award otherwise Jordan would have way more. SGA is taking a young team that no one had this good before the season started fighting for the best record in the west. Denver is the defending champs everyone knew they would be good and it’s not all because of jokic either even if he’s played great. Giannis has had probably his best season but with the coaching debacle with griffin and the coaching change mid season his team has underperformed in peoples eyes. Let the season play out and if SGA gets best record and Denver comes in 3rd he should win it.

His individual numbers are insane, just like Jokic's. Not sure I could put Luka above Brunson, though. The Knicks' roster is pretty terrible and Randle, Robinson, and Anunoby have missed significant time.

Is this's close?

And don't forget,

Mavs 33 starting lineups, most used lineup 112 minutes.

Knicks 18 starting lineups. Most used 228 minutes.

Mavs best starting lineup 12/0, 22.6 net rtg.

If denver keeps nosediving due to murray always being injured i could see luka winning it.

Sga is out of the convo now. Its very apparent how good the thunder are even without him and this is what ive been saying all year.

Denver can't lose more than 3 games, because of soft schedule, even if Jokic and Murray aren't playing. Mavs can't win everything with Luka clearly having physical issues.

I admit, that is a decisive advantage.

Luka has better numbers, and is doing much heavy lifting than Jokic.

If Dallas finish strong in these last games he should be the MVP, he has been clearly the best player this season.

Luka still third here. It’s not the March and April award, it’s a season award.

SGA playing more games on better efficiency and worlds better defense puts him at 2. Jokic’s season may feel down to you but it’s really not. Jokic is the MVP.

Luka has a great shot at the MVP next year starting the season with a better team.

Well, then Luka's case is even higher as his individual stats have been a bit worse in the last few weeks.

Lol and next year, when he'll average "only" 28 ppg and Kyrie 26 ppg, you'll say that he won't deserve it as Kyrie will have been equally as good and as deserving of the MVP, etc....

Hospital Mavs basically only got healthy after the all star break or after trade deadline. This is now the team that is only slowly starting to get it together but Luka is having major hamstring issues and is struggling hard. Still, the fact that they are chasing 4th spot is nothing short of a miracle given how many issues they had for 3/4th of the season.

West is infinitely harder than east though, you have to consider that.

Here's the full odds slate. The Denver vs Cleveland game is ongoing right now. Luka is #2 on every board but Draft Kings, which has Luka and SGA tied at +900.

nah, he just didn't want to lose three staight home games or rather: just wanted to win so he made sure they had this one. nothing to do with the race..he's fighting for seeding (and playing injured at that), not for an MVP

I bet he feels it, Luka 22pts 8r 4as... in the first quarter.

When everybody is at his best, no one can catch Luka.

Luka is heating up from three 5 for 7. Let’s see if he can get his career record for threes. He is on pace for 20 threes

With every game the idea of giving the MVP to other than Luka becomes more and more ridiculous.

Yeah of course, it's like the guy who is averaging 34pts-9rbds-10ass after 70+ games has only woken up in the last few weeks....wait.
