This spreadsheet is keeping track of announced votes and Jokic is 12/12 for MVp so far.

Chris Broussard and Tim Bontemps are missing on that Sheet.

Broussard announced it at least two times already and Bontemps is ready to declare War on anyone not willing to vote for Jokic.

Among the few who, in all likelyhood, are not going to vote for Jokic are ..

Wait those people have votes? Hahahahah that can’t be serious. I know another sport just like that they give it to nuffs nuffs to vote, throws up even weirder results like sometimes they probably forgot the person even played and was the best that game lol.

At least Max Kellerman knows his stuff with boxing you can tell he takes it seriously.

This is exactly the reason any kind of official season awards should be taken with a grain of salt. They're determined by a bunch of people who benefit from stirring ****.

Indeed, I think he has kept a calculated low profile on the MVP discussion this year given his well-known preference for the Serbian, particularly when James or Embiid were seen as frontrunners and Jokic had arguably as good of a case as them.

It would be a travesty if Curry won it over Jokic. It would be a travesty if Curry got more votes than Chris Paul, if we're being honest. He should probably be behind Giannis, Embiid, Doncic, and Lillard as well

The only sweat for Jokic is whether or not he'll be unanimous, but I don't think that's in the cards for him given the comments from the likes of Rachel Nichols and Brian Windhorst re Embiid.

Shame that it seems Embiid's going to get 2nd over Curry imo. Curry led the league in scoring with 32/6/6 on a 66% TS on the highest volume of made 3's per game in history; he has Embiid beat in EPM/RPM/BPM/VORP/RAPTOR, etc. And Joel missed 30% of the season. His case over Curry is pretty weak and mostly dependent on team wins (where Curry led his mishmashed team to a near 50 win pace when he played). I've heard many claim Joel was the best player in the league when he was on the floor, but good luck making that case when pressed.

Oh well, moot points now that the voting is in and the actual race is over.

Disagree. It's not as if they don't have their own biases, and frankly they watch far less of the league as a whole than the dedicated members of the media (if anything I'd prefer a system where ~200 chosen members of the media take a short test on general NBA knowledge for that season, and only the top half get a vote. Filter out some of the riff raft who get by on their name. Obviously will never happen). If it was a part of the organization that had a vote, I'd prefer it be the team scouts who build their gameday scouting reports.

You didn't make any case for Embiid?

Relative to Lebron's season for arguments sake, Joker was just far more efficient. Lebron did not lead the league in any advanced metrics. Joker leads the league in every advanced metric. It's a significantly better season than Lebron's 2020.

Nah it's for sure a landslide. He'll get 90-95% of 1sts. Of the first 24 votes accounted for (25% of total) he has 100%.

Fox hosts don't get it, when you don't say Curry, Embiid, or CP3 is your MVP, you are considered boring and don't get clicks. The Curry conversation at 2:00 was pretty savage .

They're right of course, but the last comment by the host RE "he only started picking up the pace since late April, and it's a full season award" is pretty nonsense. He had them as a 6 seed before he went down in mid-March while averaging 29/5/6 on 48/41/93 (65% TS). That is MVP level play any way you slice it. It's just not the supernova 37/6/5 on 49/44/90 with ~7 made 3's a game he's been on since March 29th. What hurt him more than anything was that the Warriors dropped 4 slots in the standings in the 8 games he missed. Still, he should be 2nd over Embiid. That's the much more interesting/rational debate to be had.
