John Hollinger: Real winner of the dunk contest was Iman Shumpert, who at the last minute avoided having to be associated with it. about 1 hour ago

No dunk contest can survive when everyone expects it to fail before it even begins. The crowd was awful, there's no leadup to any dunk, the commentating is just lol, "that was pretty good - boy that is impressive".

Honestly, I'm a Raps fan but that Jeremy Evans dunk was much sicker than any of Carter's dunks. The difference was just the anticipation, the atmosphere, the presentation, the announcers, the crowd, the players jumping over each other watching.

Paul George did pretty much the same 360 windmill as VC except in the dark with glow in the dark strips on his jersey and everyone yawned. I mean come on!

on a purely technical level, Carter's 360 windmill was smoother and more powerful. not to mention, DOING DUNKS THAT HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE WITH A GIMICKY WRINKLE IS STUUUUUUUUUPID AND BORING.

none of the guys in this dunk contest could have VC's jockstrap. Look at his vertical, how powerful his dunks are..and I'm pretty sure he did all of them ON HIS FIRST TRY. Kinda hard to get into it when it takes guys 3 or 4 attempts to get the dunk down.

didnt like the george dunk over hibbert. u can tell he kinda used his left hand to get up higher.

the glow in the dark one was good though.

you realize how tall roy hibbert is? that was a very impressive dunk. not to mention that danthay jones was standing next to him so he was dunking over two people.

Would people not agree that that evans 2 handed dunk should go down as one of the better dunks in dunk contest history?

It was original to my knowledge and super difficult and non-gimmicky. It was just overshadowed by some of the lesser dunks in the night.

JaVale's 3 ball dunk last year was better

Disagree. It was a nice dunk but it went down way less smooth than evans. Javale grabbed onto the rim for support on one of the balls and kind of just tossed another one in. Evans was a straight dunk for both of them.

This statement is an entirely new level of ridiculous. This is so heinously far from reality it makes me question my own existence. This is buried so deep in festering, unadulterated manure that it couldn't possibly be considered anything less than rampantly erroneous.

I really think it was the worst dunk contest I've ever seen. For sure, it didnt worth to stay awake at 5 am in Europe to watch it. There was quite better dunks in the Shaq vs Chuck game. :banghead:
