Herro is stupid good

He's very good, but that's a pretty pathetic trash talk. Telling someone they can't guard you after you use a screen to get open is not a good look. Beat a guy ISO with no help if you want to use that line.

There is absolutely nothing pathetic about that line considering the situation. He most likely had to listen to the “rookie can’t play, or not ready” line during the game and being as young as he is, came back with the “ you can’t guard me” line. He’ll get deeper and better lines as he ages, but not bad for a rook who just burned you lol.

To follow up on this, Thybulle - among rookies - is #1 in steals (by a LOT - #15 in the NBA, despite only playing 20 mpg), #3 in blocks, #9 in 3-point %...only SIX other rookies have a cumulative season total +/- that is higher than Thybulle (although admittedly playing on a good team helps this stat). He has a 3.7 DBPM(!!), a 0.8 VORP and 1.4 WS - again, despite only playing 20 minutes a game. Looking at the 15 guys on this list, there are several guys that would not appear to deserve to be above him...Hachimura, Culver (all of his advanced stats are NEGATIVE), Garland (his numbers are worse than Culver's but POINTZZZ), and Coby White are all guys that I think you would be hard pressed to say are having a better rookie season than Thybulle.

Obviously there are several guys on this list who are having great rookie seasons, but I believe that the majority of NBA GM's would take Thybulle over at least 1/3 of this list - maybe more. If there was a 3rd-team All-Defense, I think that Thybulle would have a legit shot to make it...as it is he will almost certainly get votes.

Ja been absolutely clutch in 4th quarters.

Dude is so far ahead in the ROTY race they may as well give him the trophy now.

His 4th quarter heroics can’t even be scaled to rookies. He’s winning tight games in a playoff race.

I have to say it has been a joy to watch Zion up close these past 3 games.

The guy is so different than almost any player I have ever watched and he is living up to the hype, even still figuring it out. His efficiency numbers, per 36 numbers, and just the way he impacts the game on both ends of the court is remarkable.

While its likely too late for him to pass Ja no matter what he does, I think by the end of the year all of the haters will have shut their mouths and everyone will know what the hype is about.

not yet he should be a lot better on defense I believe he can be an elite defender, just doesn't have the stamina right now to play both ends

I'm very happy. He's improved in every game imo and his conditioning is getting better. 27 minutes this past game and he looked fine.

His FT shooting and Defense need a lot of work. He is far from a finished product. But damn is he just so freaking good.

yeah I've stayed pretty quiet on him so far, just waiting for him to turn that conditioning corner just like at Duke and then is when i'll breakout the popcorn and watch you tear up the comment section.
