Bibby's all right. Would probably be the best pickup Miami could make from buyouts given their obvious needs at PG and C. They probably aren't thinking of him as a long term fixture to the starting lineup.

Mike Bibby can make uncontested layups, so he is an upgrade over Mario Chalmers.
Mike Bibby can make jumpshots without needing to be open by 10 feet, so he is an upgrade over Carlos Arroyo.

But is Miami signing him to play basketball or horse?

I don't really want him on the team. I don't think it'll change anything.... but oh well... We're just giving him a vacation to Miami I see..

Bibby is a downgrade from Chalmers.

He should be the 3rd stringer. In that role, he's useful.

Chalmers is abso horrible. He makes 1 or 2 great plays and then goes on and makes 4 or 5 DUMB plays. How is that a downgrade?

Defense. None of them has a high enough usage rate or number of touches to outweigh the huge defensive difference.

He is no longer on the roster. After his second 10 day they didn't pick him for the rest of the year because the trade with the Hawks put their roster at 15. I suppose they could buy out Bibby and then sign Shakur for the rest of the year.

When in comparison to Chalmers, what Bibby gives up in defense he makes up for it in shooting, distributing, and handling the ball. He's a much better decision maker than Chalmers as well.

Bibby may not be allowed to go to the Heat, depends on buy-out agreements. It's a huge buy-out, hopefully they make Bibby sign in the West.

I heard GSW did that with Murphy (sign only in the East).

Exactly. Wizards are tards if they don't restrict his destinations. Atlanta essentially gives it's division rival Miami it's starting point guard (even though he sucks.) Also Washington is in the same division, if Wizards do this a lot of teams aren't going to want to deal with them in the future.

Cool, another old washed-up bum to Miami. He'll fit right in.

The Wizards won't contend anytime soon - or really, anytime during the duration of Bibby's career as an effective player. I'm sure they don't care a bit where he goes.

@AlexKennedyNBA Alex Kennedy

Mike Bibby and the Wizards have agreed to a buyout. Sources close to the point guard say that his preference is to sign with the Miami Heat.

This is unreal, he gave up his entire 2011-2012 salary.

If he gave up his entire salary, then it's hard to envision him having a restriction on where he can sign.
