I don't really see how this is racist at all there are people of many different races / ethnicity / skin colors in "da ghetto".

Yea, even with the possible mistakes in the translation you should be blind to not see where they're coming from.

Well, there's also the perpetual US snobbery that the US basketball (and anything US related) is years-light ahead of the rest of the world and even HS players would dominate out there.
It's still baffling the douchebaggery and ignorance among many pretending basketball connaiseurs in the US media.

This is Europe we're talking about, the same continent where fans make monkey noises, throw bananas at opposing black players. If i'm generalizing the whole continent and if this makes me racist, i guess i am one but that doesn't change the facts.

You must be reading/watching different guys than I do. You need to check out Fran Fraschilla or Chris Sheridan, who predict impending doom before just about every Team USA game.

I agree. Not to feed into it, but I mean come on, look how many black athletes have led teams to titles. I think that was pretty low of the Germans. I guess they deserve they day, Dirk did win the title, I want to see how much criticism they get for this.

Fraschilla especially, it was tiring to hear every game in the preliminary round how the US style was not going to work in the tournament and going on and giving incessant praise to marginal talent on some of these Euro teams.

This. There's nothing racist about this article, nothing at all. It just states that US basketball is all about superstars, while European basketball is about the team, and the team game won over the individual stardom.
