Lol, this move is often taught in youth practices as well.

i read how they describe the rule, you must be right because this is how the rule is listed:

If a player, with the ball in his possession, raises his pivot foot off the floor, he must pass or shoot before his pivot foot returns to the floor

that doenst apply, he changes his pivot foot.

explain how it's not.
like someone already said, if he kept his pivot foot down and jumped off of 2 feet it would not have been a travel.

You can lift your pivot foot, travel is only called when you replant it.

yes, that's his penis. he just tucked it inside the flesh on his leg during the game.

No, he doesnt, he does it with one motion, keeping his original pivot lifted all along.

Err, I don't see it. His pivot foot was his left, he spun towards the rim and took off with his right. That's not a change of pivot foot. Correct me if I'm wrong.

He shoots before his pivot foot comes back in to the ground, so legal play in every major rule set.

It isn't. That doesn't mean it isn't a travel.

His pivot foot was always his left. He never changed it.

I was just calling out some of the posters who say Lebron doesn't travel when he clearly does but will otherwise if it's Kobe. So why should the standards be different

lol... So if you establish your right foot as pivot foot, you can hop along on your one, left leg all the way down the court and it isn't a travel?

As others have said, the rule as quoted above takes for granted that once a pivot foot has been established, it cannot be changed, and the only way to "leave it" is to jump to shoot or pass. Switching your pivot to then jump to shoot or pass is a travel.

Usually I say no because most clips are like LeBron taking an extra step but not dribbling or something stupid like that but this is definitely a travel. Try and emulate the move right now and see how awkward and travel-y it feels.

What are you talking about? He NEVER established his right foot as his pivot foot. Here is another example of Kobe doing what he did in the gif, it's perfectly legal.

You're right, in the gif in the OP, he establishes his LEFT foot as his pivot foot... see him, you know, pivoting off it? Then he walks into another pivot foot. Travel, whether it's called every time or not is a different question. I actually see that exact thing called a travel quite a bit in the NBA.

Its a fundamental move actually, taught everywhere, practiced everywhere, lmao.
Seriously, some of yall needa play more ball and get in official games yourselves instead of arguing over who hates a player or a team and who's a fan of another, lol.
