I agree. There's a reason why they're called FT's. If your an NBA player and you can't shoot over 70% at the stripe, you shouldn't be rewarded for being bad. It's different for big men because only so many can shoot well (due to hand size, too much strength) so the one's that master the skill should be rewarded, not the other way around.

With the exception of the two-foot putt, it's one of the easiest makes in professional sport. The target doesn't move, you have ample time, and every shot is nearly identical. It's something you can practice forever, and isn't particularly situational dependent.

It's embarassing that some professional players have trouble with it. Shows a lack of desire.

Every FT is certainly an overstatement, but a sub-65% shot is just terrible.
