I was at that game. He indeed looks a little "fat" in real life ..

His team mates were pretty good in the first half, but absolutely horrible in the second half.

DWill made a couple of drives to the basket without success (no calls & some misses) and suddenly stopped attacking .. All he did was trying to create for others and his team mates were as I said absolutely horrible in the second half

He was also incredibly frustrated the entire game. He got a technical in the first quarter and needed to be calmed down or he would have been ejected. He made a couple of hard frustration fouls that didn't make him very popular here in Belgium :D

Before that technical he was pretty good, made 2 drives and 2 assists if I'm not mistaken.

Some credit for the loss needs to go to the Belgian team, they were on fire in Q3&Q4 and played incredible defense on Williams the entire game.

But I think a lot of people expected A LOT more from DWill. He had some flashes of his best form, but way too many mistakes & missed shots

Its pretty much late, Besiktas already out of Eurocup. Eurochallenge is absolutely horrible and noone cars about it, and talking about Turkish league, they cant do wonders there, Efes, Fenerbache, Galatasaray are still gonna be on top.
He may improve his game, but hes already a huge disappointment, money down the drain...

The Jazz trade and Sloan retiring killed Williams. Sloan motivated Williams. He came into his 2nd year in the league in the best shape I've ever seen a player from one year to the next. And it showed on the court...Jazz made WCF that year and Deron broke out into a star.

Just goes to show you how good Sloan really was. I wouldnt be surprised if Deron falls into mediocre territory for the rest of his career....

Seems like wishful thinking from a bitter fan

Deron was out of basketball for a while because of the wrist injury the Jazz misdiagnosed twice.

He's fat as hell right now but he'll be fine when the season starts.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this, and if you've watched any of Besiktas' games you'd probably come out with same view - he's not playing very hard. He's slacking. And that's ok, because a lot of people don't know this but his body is very worn out, it has been getting more and more worn out for the past few seasons. I remember him saying, "I need an entire new left side of my body." I think he's just trying to preserve what he has left and keeping it from getting worse.

If that's true then it's a bloody awful and unproffesional attitude by him considering he's the best paid player in Europe right now.Besides those players have huge egos,i doubt he enjoys gettin ridiculed by a bunch of unkown Belgian scrubs.

Bitter? We have Favors, Kanter, and more draft picks to look forward to. Nets have a fat Williams. Who is bitter?

C'mon now no need to be like that about it. I have tremendous respect for DWill. I still wish he would come back to our team!

No reason to go dissing on DWill, although this Yi dude might want to stfu with the unwarranted attack.

DWill is too good to continually suck like this, and he will most definitely figure it out....as long as he's trying. Hope it isn't true that he is not giving it his all. That would make me lose respect for him.

But I think, more than anything, this gives you an idea of just how big a deal adjustments from one style of play to another can be. It will take time. But eventually the skill and talent will take over.

He should've just used the freakin lockout to rest then.
Nobody forced him to go to Europe. And it was pretty clear right from the start that European players won't touch an NBA superstar with a dabber either.
He's making enough money in the NBA to sit out an entire decade or even more without ever having to work. If he really feels like his body isn't 100% he should've never went to Turkey and just stayed in America to work on his game in a gym.

He gets $200,000 per month, hes not the best paid player in Europe...
But I agree. If Deron needs rest and he cant play PRO and is no motivated, why he signed that deal in the first place? Very unprofessional.

After giving up all that for him in the trade to the Jazz, I bet the Nets still re-sign him to a CRAZY long term deal, just to have something on the table for the fans when they move to Brooklyn.

However, if D-Williams keeps threatening to walk (not signing deal) and at the same time performs like this in the NBA next season, they might actually let him walk..... I mean long term admitting a bad trade is not worse than signing him to a 6-7 year franchise player salary deal.

--------------------------------

Not saying he will bust..... but he's gotta re-sign as soon as possible wit the Nets

No way in hell the Nets just "let" him walk.
If they know they cant sign him they will try to get whatever they can.
