Trade machine says yes :D

Chicago wins this one big time (they get the best player in this trade for the 4th and 5th best players in the trade)
Miami would improve a little
Mavs lose, but not bad if Dirk wants out anyway

Why would we trade Drew for Dirk when Drew is the better player?

Its a stretch to say that Bynum is a better player than Dirk right now but there's no way you trade a 24 year old AS center that just averaged 19/12 for a 34 year old Dirk.

Maybe a 3 way trade for Gasol. Gasol to a team like Minny, some young assets and picks to Dallas, and Dirk to LA.

With the way teams are constructed as of "right now", where does Dirk fit best?
NBA - Pelicans,Hornets
NFL - Panthers
MLB - Braves
NHL - Ducks, Hurricanes
NCAAB - Tarheels, Wolverines, CHA 49ers
NCAAF - Tarheels, Wolverines, CHA 49ers
Soccer - PSG, CLT FC, USMNT, FRA, SCO
Golf - Tiger Woods
Tennis - Rafael Nadal
NASCAR - Joey Lagano

I'm sorry, but I've seen this is way too many threads lately. Dirk is a year removed from winning a ring as a first option and the most important player on his team while pretty much being unstoppable throughout the entire playoffs, something Andrew Bynum hasn't done and likely never will do. I understand that dirk is 34 and Bynum is in his early 20's, but anybody who says at this point in time that Andrew Bynum has more of an impact on he game than Dirk....well they are trollolololing. Simple as that.

So would OKC trade Harden for Kobe (if the salaries matched up)? Because Dirk for Bynum is pretty much the same thing. Kobe has recently won 2 championships as the best player on his team and is still a better player right now than Harden. But I don 't see any way that OKC would trade a 22 year old Harden straight up for a 33 year old Kobe.

I like how in the era of super teams a great player can't be on a team by himself anymore...

No but thats not really comparable. Kobe is older than Dirk. Nash is older than Dirk.

OKCs core group is around 23. So Kobe would be an old ass outlier who certainly would not be worth the few shots at a title if you compare it to 10 years of Harden.

But looking at the Lakers, Dirk fits in perfectly. i will never approve of him getting traded there.

But what do Lakers do with Bynum after Kobe, Gasol and Nash are gone? Rebuild? You don't want a 28 year prima donna on board if you go for the tank. Maybe they can get a FA or 2. But I think Lakers are in for a bit of a drought after Kobe is gone. Same as the Mavs for Dirk.

So trading Bynum for a guy who is head and shoulders above him and fits into the win in the next 3 years and than retire plan would not be dumb. In fact it would be smart. Because a Nash/Kobe/whocares/Dirk/Gasol team grants u 2 more rings in 3 years if you don't get hit by injuries hard.

With Bynum you might win one.

lol @ Bynum > Dirk

Dirk still put up 27/7 in the playoffs while his entire team stunk. Bynum choked like a dog in the playoffs, and Cuban would never bring in a douchebag to replace the guy that's put the entire city on his shoulders for the past 14 years.

I think Dirk will either stay a Mav or go to the Pacers or Nuggets. With a superstar like Dirk both of those would be serious contenders.

Harden is 11 years younger than Kobe, Bynum is 10 years younger than Dirk. And Harden is not going to be the driving force behind any OKC championships. The championship series against Miami pretty much proved that. And whether or not Bynum would be the main option in a Lakers rebuilding phase doesn't matter. He's a 24 year old that is the 2nd best center in the league, trading him for a 34 year old already declining Dirk would not be a smart move.
