Please close this thread up. You're embarrassing real Lakers fans.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

I don't think that the Lakers have any chance to get past the first round at all. That said the OP's point might be sound. The problem is that I'm not sure you have to stop Dwight to beat his teams.

Re: No team can stop a healthy Dwight in the post season
The Spurs lost by only 5 with Dwight having a monster game, Blake having the game of his life, no Manu, Parker shooting 1/10 and playing like absolute trash, and with our scrubs in the game in the 4th. Take off the Laker glasses dude, they have no shot
By the way, I full expect Tim Duncan to eat Dwight's lunch again. Howard wants no part of Duncan in the ring

Going by this season?
Duncan
Noah
Chandler
Cousins
Vucevic
M. Gasol
Horford
Monroe
Jefferson
Hibbert (he is a defensive monster)
Lopez
*ANDREW BYNUM IS ALSO A BETTER CENTER OVERALL, THOUGH NOT THIS SEASON BECAUSE HE HAS NOT PLAYED. ANDREW BOGUT, WHEN 100%, IS ALSO MORE IMPACTFUL PLAYER THAN GASOL
all players I'd rather have than P. Gasol

Dwight ain't Shaq. He's not going to drop 30+ on you every night. Lakers got absolutely nothing outside of Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol who just played his best basketball all season (surprise, Kobe is out). They will be crushed by San Antonio.
The only reason they were even close to the 8th/7th seed is 100% thanks to Kobe his heroball for the past 2 months.

You said "going by this season" and then listed two guys that either didn't play (Bynum) or barely played (Bogut).... Are you going by this season or not? It's obvious you are lying to yourself or to us.

Yet they won't make it out of the 1st rd.
...and Dwight still doesn't look as explosive as he did in ORL imo.

Not that I agree with the OP but we can claim the injury excuse also. We lost 2 games by a total of 5 points to the Spurs this season.
The first game we lost 84-82 on a game winner from Danny Green with both Nash and Blake in suits. The second game in S.A. we lost 108-105 with Robert Sacre and Darius Morris in the starting lineup while Howard, Gasol, Hill and Blake sat. We play the Spurs well and I doubt we get swept like half of RealGm is hoping.

so you can't really disagree so you have to nitpick? i threw bynum and bogut in there because when they are healthy they are more of a difference maker than Gasol. And Bogut has played this season, Gasol has been absolute trash for 3/4ths of the entire season, let's not act like his recent play is indicative of his year. I remember Lakerfans ready to trade this guy for peanuts at the deadline.
It's obvious you are lying to yourself because you cannot dispute my claim.

How is you going against your own premise nitpicking? All it showed is that you had an agenda and tried to list as many centers as possible even if they didn't fit the parameters of your own list. Once again, are you going by this year alone or not? It's pretty simple, if so, take those two out of the list. If you look back and READ that's the only thing I said.
Why are you trying to make me say things I didn't say?
How am I lying to myself? You think that by using the same words I did, it gives you an argument? I didn't change my premise midway to try to drive a point in. I didn't say that Pau Gasol was the 2nd best center in the league, I didn't attempt to discredit the other guys.
You should learn to quit while what you say is some sort of argument, because your ending there is very sad considering it's based on absolutely nothing. It's even sadder with the "laughing smilies." Inventing something from thin air and then laughing at it by yourself... Okay...

We're not trying to stop Dwight. We're trying to stop the Lakers. Big difference.

I haven't heard anything about Dwight's "alleged" torn labrum in his shoulder. Did it magically heal itself while he continued to play?
