Mike Bresnahan ‏@Mike_Bresnahan 19s
Kobe will still be NBA's highest-paid player, according to sources. He'll total between $40 mill and $50 mill his last 2 seasons.

Oh, man. L.A.... well, at least you have conceded that you aren't titling 'til he retires and are going balls-out to keep Kobe happy in his NBA golden years.

They don't even know how well he's going to perform. Lol. Odd Kobe would sign now, maybe he knows he can't be what he once was, take the sure thing with whatever they offered.

I know it's Kobe... But not seeing him play after a huge injury at that age and still give him 20-25 mill? Ehhh

As a Lakers fan, I am happy he will retire as a Laker. I am NOT happy that he will be the highest paid player. He is worth no more than $15 million if the Lakers want to compete for a championship.

10:25 we find out kobe will re-sign
10:44 we get a rough estimate of his salary

one of the best and worst moments for lakers fans came about 20 minutes apart.

his overall play might not dictate that type of money, but he is still the star of stars in the NBA...he does generate alot of money for the lakers worldwide. But i am upset he didnt take a cut, so we can get more talent in the next 2 years

Yes, he's a legend and one of the greatest of all time but come on now...

That's a huge mistake by the Lakers' FO.

2 years, 48 million per ESPN

Unfortunately it was not per "The Onion" for Laker fans

Kobe needs all the money he can get

Can't risk Vanessa up and leaving again

Bad contract and horrible timing, now Gasol will feel alienated if he doesn't get an extension.

How can you offer someone 24 mil coming from an Achilles surgery?
